Jeffrey Epstein’s brother says he can’t deny possibility of Trump being 'behind' financier's death

LONDON, UK: Mark Epstein, brother of Jeffrey Epstein, made explosive claims on 'Piers Morgan Uncensored', on Wednesday, July 9, suggesting President Donald Trump may have played a role in his sibling’s controversial jailhouse death.
His remarks come amid renewed scrutiny of the Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein case and the Justice Department’s recent memo reaffirming that Epstein died by suicide.

Mark Epstein suggests Trump may have had his brother killed
In a striking exchange with Piers Morgan, Mark speculated that high-profile Trump allies could have covered up a murder.

“You got [Attorney General Pam] Bondi! You got [FBI Director Kash] Patel! You got [OMB Director Russell] Vought! All of these people work for Trump, okay? So if they’re covering up for somebody, who do you think they might be covering up for?” he said.
Morgan pressed him further, “So you think they’re covering up for President Trump?”
“Look, everybody is looking at little pieces of this and coming up with kind of theories,” Mark replied. “But people who really take the time- because there’s a lot of facts, there’s a lot of information - people who take the time and really investigate this thoroughly all come to the pretty much conclusion that maybe Trump was behind this.”
“Wow,” Morgan responded. “Maybe Jeff was killed as to quiet him,” added Mark.
When asked outright whether Trump had something to do with Epstein’s death, Mark said, “I wouldn’t write that off, because if you look at all of the evidence we have, and all of the facts, not opinions, all of the facts, that wouldn’t be something I would dismiss.”

Morgan pushed back, stating, “That’s an extraordinary thing to say, but there is zero evidence Donald Trump had anything to do with your brother’s death.”
“Well, somebody did,” Epstein answered.
Mark Epstein's Trump claim sparks backlash, users call it speculation and 'not credible'
Mark's suggestion Trump may have had a hand in his brother’s death sparked a wave of backlash and skepticism online, with many users dismissing the remarks as speculative and politically motivated.
One X user criticized the claim’s credibility outright, writing, "There is no concrete proof that directly links Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein's death. Mark Epstein's statements are speculative and part of broader conspiracy theories. Official investigations and fact-checking efforts, such as those by Snopes, have debunked many related claims, finding no evidence of foul play involving Trump."

Another took a more nuanced approach, saying, “It’s ok to support @realDonaldTrump & HATE what he did with Epstein files. I think it’s the biggest black mark on his legacy myself but I choose not to focus on the bad while holding out hope someone will reveal the truth to the world! Hell maybe a hacker could get it all!”

Some users were more blunt in their dismissal of Mark's credibility. “Just by speculating that, he lost any credibility if any he had,” one user wrote.

Others focused on the political context, arguing that if any evidence against Trump existed, it would have been weaponized already. “If there was proof of any Trump involvement the previous administration would’ve used it to keep Trump out of office no matter who else went down as collateral damage,” one user stated.

Referencing past claims from Epstein’s family, another commenter added, “First, he said he didn't kill himself and that someone else did, then he said he was alive, now this. This is all speculation and not really credible, to be honest. Seems like a specific, coordinated attack on Trump.”

DOJ memo dismisses Epstein blackmail claims, backs suicide ruling
Mark Epstein’s appearance comes days after the US Department of Justice released a new memo concluding that Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide and that no further criminal investigation is warranted.

The department asserted that no credible evidence exists to suggest Epstein blackmailed others or maintained an incriminating “client list,” despite persistent speculation and earlier claims by Trump-aligned officials.

Video footage from Epstein’s Manhattan jail cell was released and analyzed by the FBI, with the memo noting that the footage had been enhanced for clarity. Officials concluded that the video supports the determination of suicide made by medical examiners.
“The FBI enhanced the relevant footage by increasing its contrast, balancing the color, and improving its sharpness for greater clarity and viewability,” the memo stated.
Despite early remarks by Attorney General Pam Bondi suggesting she had a list “sitting on [her] desk,” both the White House and DOJ later walked that back, clarifying she was referring broadly to case files.

Officials also emphasized that many materials remain sealed by court order to protect victims and are not expected to be released.
Both FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino, who previously cast doubt on the suicide narrative during their time as right-wing commentators, now stand behind the department’s conclusion.
The controversy continues to fuel conspiracy theories, with Mark's latest accusations placing renewed pressure on a case long clouded by unanswered questions and political entanglements.
