Jennifer Aniston gives 'Friends' co-star Courteney Cox heartfelt shoutout: 'So proud of you'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Aniston is celebrating 'Friends' co-star Courteney Cox's latest career milestone, applauding her work behind the camera as director and producer of the upcoming crime thriller 'Evil Genius'.
The film, starring Patricia Arquette and based on the Netflix docuseries of the same name, was recently added to the Toronto International Film Festival lineup. The public show of support highlighted the pair's decades-long friendship, which has remained strong long after their time on the hit sitcom.

Re-sharing a post from Cox about 'Evil Genius' on her Instagram Story on July 21, Aniston wrote alongside red heart and clapping emojis, "My girl!" She also commented on Cox's post, saying, "So proud of you!!"
In the post's caption, Cox wrote, "When you really believe in something… don’t ever give up. Dreams can come true."
A longtime supporter of Cox, Aniston previously reflected on their enduring friendship while appearing alongside 'Friends' castmate Lisa Kudrow at Cox's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2023.
"To be friends with Courteney, is to be family with Courteney," Aniston said, adding, "She is responsible for all of that. From the beginning of when we met her, she was immediately inclusive, warm, loving, interested in everything about you."
She then added, "We're sisters from another mister. And we love you."
Their friendship has remained close through the years, with Aniston serving as godmother to Cox and ex-husband David Arquette's 22-year-old daughter, Coco.
"Coco calls me Nuna," she revealed during a 2010 interview with GM TV, adding, "I see her almost every weekend and she's really turning into such a lovely little girl. She's sweet, funny and creative and we just sit there in awe of her."
Aniston also spoke about what she described as a shared "love language" with Cox during a 2025 interview with PEOPLE.
"We usually talk interior design, It kind of bores people to tears when we get into a room together. But it's what we love."

Cox has also publicly celebrated Aniston over the years. On Wednesday, February 11, she shared a throwback photo of the pair from their 'Friends' days to mark Aniston's 57th birthday. The image was the first in a carousel celebrating her Aquarius friends, including Laura Dern and Isla Fisher.
"Apparently Geminis like Aquarians! So many birthdays this month," Cox wrote, adding, "I'm so lucky to have these 'air' heads in my life."
Separately, Cox and longtime partner Johnny McDaid ended their relationship after more than 10 years together in June 2026. The pair were last seen together publicly at the US Open in September 2025.
TheBefore that, she celebrated McDaid's 48th birthday with a tribute post in July. In April 2024, Cox revealed on the 'Minnie Questions with Minnie Driver' podcast that the couple had previously split during a couples therapy session.
"Three years in, we broke up, and it was really intense. We broke up in therapy. I didn't know it was coming, whether I should have or not," Cox said, adding, "He just broke up within the first minute. And I was like, what? We were engaged, and I was so shocked. I was in so much pain."
