Jennifer Garner shares 'jittery' experience of having coffee for first time at famous co-star's suggestion

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Garner loves coffee, but her first experience of having a cup was anything but pleasant.

Appearing on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ on Thursday, October 3, the actress revealed that she had “a very specific first day of coffee day in my life” about three decades ago, as reported by PEOPLE.

At the time, Garner was not an established actor and was living in New York City. When she got the role of a potential love interest of Benjamin Bratt in an episode of ‘Law & Order’, the latter asked her to meet.

The two decided to meet for a coffee, despite Garner never having had the drink earlier in her life.

Garner reportedly tried to appear very mature despite being in her early 20s. “I was being very grown up. Yeah, of course, coffee is exactly what I would like to have,” the ‘13 Going on 30’ star recalled.

Bratt asked for a double latte with an extra shot during their first meeting. “So it was three shots of espresso in a latte!” Garner told Clarkson, before mentioning, “And I was like, 'I'll have the same.' I'm sure I put like a cup of sugar into it.”

But that was not it as the ‘Blood In Blood Out’ actor decided to have another round of coffee; Garner also went along and ordered again, which left her feeling “so jittery.”

When the host Clarkson commented, “Almost probably you had a heart attack,” the 52-year-old actress replied: “I could feel like I could taste my heartbeat, you know?”

Though Garner’s first coffee experience was really weird, she now loves it.

She earlier reportedly claimed, “If I could marry coffee I would. I love coffee.”

The ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ star also named some of her favorites. “Almost always, I'll have an almond milk cappuccino, but sometimes I go flat white and sometimes I go cortado,” she noted.

Garner also stated that she “always do a super early workout and I need a coffee before that to get me started — and that's usually an Americano. After I work out, I feel like I deserve a reward, so then I'll have my cappuccino.”

“And then I probably have one more coffee in me mid-morning, and then I'm done for the day. If I have one later, it's decaf,” she asserted.

And just like Garner, her 18-year-old daughter Violet also loves coffee.

She added, “She is always like, 'I like extra water in this. I like this extra hot.' She's very fancy. She's so specific because she's cool. If you're 18, you're super cool.”
