LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Lopez is embracing a new chapter in her life after years of heartbreak and failed relationships. The singer and actor recently shared that her idea of a "happily ever after" looks very different from what she once imagined.

While discussing her personal growth and happiness, Lopez said she has become more self-aware and comfortable creating her own happiness.

Lopez's personal life has often made headlines, particularly following her four marriages and most recent divorce from Ben Affleck. Despite their split, the former couple have been spotted together on several occasions while spending time with their children.

Jennifer Lopez shares her definition of happiness after Ben Affleck split

During a recent interview, the actress and singer opened up about how her perspective on love and happiness has evolved over the years. Looking back on her past relationships, Lopez explained that she has come to understand the importance of finding fulfillment within herself rather than relying on a partner for happiness.

“For me, because I have had relationships, and I have been married a couple of times and it hasn’t worked out. "I realized that my joy is about me becoming more self-aware and more comfortable with the fact that I make my own happiness. My life is fantastic. I have great kids, and I have this beautiful home, and I do what I want in work."

Lopez also reflected on the next phase of her life as her children take their own paths and become more independent. "That has to be the thing first, even as my kids go off to college now, which I cry every other day about - but because of that, it’s like, OK, what is my life now?"

"The only constant in your life is you, so you have to have the greatest romance with yourself.”

Jennifer Lopez's fourth divorce sparked the biggest buzz

Lopez's most recent breakup was with Affleck in 2024, with their divorce finalized the following year. While all four of Lopez's marriages made headlines, none attracted as much attention as her split from Affleck.

Lopez first married Ojani Noa in 1997, followed by dancer Cris Judd in 2001. She then married singer Marc Anthony in 2004, and the pair welcomed twins before ending their marriage in 2014 after a decade together.

Her fourth marriage to Affleck was different. The divorce announcement came on the second anniversary of their wedding, but the real reason the split generated so much buzz was the couple's long history.

Lopez and Affleck first fell in love in the early 2000s and became engaged. However, they called off their planned 2003 wedding and eventually split in 2004.

Nearly 20 years later, the former couple surprised fans by rekindling their romance in 2021. Their reunion felt like a real-life Hollywood love story, with many believing they had finally found their happy ending. That is why the end of their marriage became one of the most closely followed celebrity breakups in recent years.
