Jeremy Renner says creating music was 'cathartic' after accident
The 'Dahmer' actor who released the EP 'The Medicine' in 2020 shared that his latest album is a deeply personal musical diary that he believes was instrumental in his healing journey.
Renner shared that the lyrics were inspired by the isolation he felt during his nearly three-week hospitalization following the snowplow accident and said that he found the process of putting his feelings on paper for the album to be "really cathartic and kind of healing."

He further acknowledged the vulnerability of sharing his thoughts and feelings through music, especially since it contrasts with the roles he plays on screen.
"When it comes to music, it’s just me and my thoughts and feelings and perspectives, and so it’s a little bit more revealing, and that’s a little tougher to do," said Renner.
"[It’s] tough to really just kind of be yourself and be open to being judged and criticized and all these things. [It takes] a lot of courage to have to do that… I’m a pretty private guy, but there’s certain things I feel like it’d be a shame if I didn’t [release]," he added.
The actor further revealed that releasing music has provided him an opportunity to showcase his bonding with his 10-year-old daughter Ava who is featured prominently emotional song video 'Wait.'
"It’s a beacon of hope for me and for my daughter as well, and this is a new part of our journey together in recovery and in life,” said Renner.
