Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson's 10-year marriage on the rocks over her 'whacky, spaced-out demeanor'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jessica Simpson’s marriage with the former NFL player Eric Johnson is reportedly on the brink of collapse owing to her bizarre behavior. 

Simpson has been married to her athlete husband for 10 years and they share three children together - daughters Maxwell, 12, and Birdie, five, and son Ace, 11.

However, recently some sources claimed that all is not well between the married couple with the 44-year-old singer’s errant behavior allegedly causing strains in their relationship, per RadarOnline.

Jessica Simpson is allegedly facing marital troubles

According to the sources, the marital troubles between the couple allegedly started after ‘Irresistible’ singer moved to Nashville, Tennesse, all by herself, to revive her music career. 

A source close to the couple said that though her husband was initially “fine” with the move, as the days passed, it created a distance between them. 

The source shared, "Eric was fine with it at first, but as time went on, it created a lot of tension between them.”

Explaining Simpson’s behavior as “spaced-out,” the source explained, "He's also frustrated with what insiders describe her as whacky, spaced-out demeanor and reclusive habits – since returning from Nashville, she spends days on end without leaving the house.”

They claimed that though Simpson returned from Nashville, her relationship with the former NFL tight end is yet to return to normalcy. 

"Nobody knows what Jessica's doing all day,” said the source, before adding, “It's never been worse."

The sources even speculated that the couple might be on a “break” after she was spotted a few times without her ring. 

Another source said, "Jessica has not been wearing her ring and has not posted online with Eric in a year."

Most notably, she posted a family picture with Eric in May last year during the birthday celebration of one of her children. 

As her husband celebrated his 45th birthday on September 15, the ‘Take My Breath Away’ singer did not post a tribute to him on social media. 

Meanwhile, sources close to her are reportedly worried about her health as the multi-faceted star is leading the life of a recluse often. 

"The people closest to her are very worried, even if they're afraid to say it to her face,” shared one source before adding, "Jessica was not on point during her minimal public appearances.”

Commenting on Simpson’s alleged love for cosmetic procedures, the sources claimed, "She doesn't leave the house a lot and her look is devolving into Real Housewives territory like she's constantly getting cosmetic surgery touch-ups."

Her obsession with plastic surgery has allegedly fueled the rift with her husband. "He's been very vocal about how difficult it is to live with someone so obsessed with surgery and so detached from reality most of the time,” shared the sources.

Jessica Simpson sparks drinking concern

Sources further spilled that Simpson’s reclusive behavior has sparked concerns of resorting back to drinking. 

With a source claiming, "The chemistry between her and Eric has never been worse,” her close ones have been left worried over her health. 

In her memoir ‘Open Book’, Simpson previously confessed that she had been addicted to pills and alcohol. But she has been sober since 2017. 

Recently in August, as the ‘With You’ singer made an adorable post to celebrate her son Ace’s birthday, a social media user said, “STOP DRINKING.”

Simpson, nevertheless, clarified that she has been sober since 2017, writing, “I haven’t wanted or touched alcohol since October 2017 and it has been the best decision I’ve made for myself and for my family. Thank. You for your concern, but you have me very misunderstood. Sending love your way.”

The comment poster later apologized to the ‘I Belong To Me’ singer, writing, “I’m so happy to hear that!! Sorry for my misunderstanding.”
