ARIZONA: Jill Biden's fiery remarks during a rally in Arizona have sparked intense backlash as the First Lady warned that women could face grave consequences, including death, under a Donald Trump presidency.

Speaking to a crowd gathered to support Kamala Harris, Jill cautioned that Trump's policies are pushing the country back to the dangerous pre-Roe v Wade era, saying, “Secrecy, shame, silence, danger, even death. That was the reality back then, and that’s where Donald Trump has left women today.”

Abortion policy's crucial role in 2024 elections

Jill Biden made the remarks as part of the Kamala Harris campaign's Reproductive Freedom Bus Tour, where the First Lady emphasized the critical importance of reproductive rights in the upcoming election, the Daily Mail reported.

She didn’t mince words, pointing directly to Trump’s Supreme Court picks and noting that she had been "shocked, devastated" by the repeal of Roe v Wade but recognized in hindsight that the former president's hand-selected justices were appointed to "restrict reproductive freedom."

Abortion rights have emerged as a key issue in battleground states like Arizona, where Proposition 139, an amendment to enshrine abortion rights into the state constitution, will be on the ballot this November.

Jill's warnings echo the sentiments of many Democrats who believe this issue could once again galvanize voters, as it did in the 2022 midterm elections.

Jill Biden's fervent defense of reproductive rights

However, Jill Biden’s strong rhetoric has drawn criticism, with opponents accusing her of fear-mongering. Trump, for his part, has walked a fine line on the issue, praising the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade while insisting that abortion rights should be left up to the states.

Still, Jill's remarks have resonated with supporters who believe the stakes for women’s rights have never been higher.

At the rally, Jill addressed the broader implications of the court’s decision, stating, "Today, our daughters and granddaughters are living with fewer rights than we had."

She rallied the crowd, urging them to "elect Kamala Harris and Tim Walz" to protect reproductive freedoms for future generations, adding that "young girls will grow up in the world we will decide this November."

With both Trump and Harris focusing on Arizona, a critical battleground in the 2024 election, the state is seeing a heightened political presence.

Outrage after Jill Biden slams Donald Trump

Jill Biden's recent statements have provoked a fierce backlash online.

"Jill Biden’s fear-mongering is getting ridiculous. Women won’t ‘die’ because of Trump what’s really hurting women are the disastrous policies from her husband’s administration: rising crime, inflation, and out-of-control borders," stated a user.

"Probably MORE women will die at the hands of illegal aliens if you elect border czar Kamala Harris!" said a second.

"The fear mongering this election cycle is beyond pathetic," tweeted a user.

"Stupidity has no limits for democrats," read a tweet.

"They are coming out with big threats! C'mom man," added a user.

"Desperado," tweeted a user.

"Hyperbole," chimed another.

"Women are already dying," said another.
