LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Late night TV host Jimmy Kimmel recently orchestrated a prank targeting former Rep George Santos (R-N.Y.) by sending him scripted messages through Cameo, an online service where individuals can purchase personalized videos.

Santos, who was ousted from the House last week, has been creating videos for a few hundred dollars each and gained attention for his quirky responses.

Anonymous scripts elicit Santos' genuine responses

On Kimmel's show, he revealed that he anonymously ordered prank scripts to see if Santos would read them without knowing their source.

“George please congratulate my friend Gary Fortuna for winning the Clearwater Florida beef eating contest. He ate over six pounds of ground beef in under 30 minutes – which was a new record!” Kimmel wrote in one prank script. “He’s not feeling great right now, but the doctor thinks he will be released from the hospital soon. Please wish him a speedy recovery!”

“I know you’re feeling a little under the weather, but I hear from a great source that the doctors said you’ll be released from the hospital soon and recover well,” Santos said in a video. “Look, have a speedy recovery, and then enjoy the festivities of the end of the year. Bye.”

Kimmel's prank escapade continues

Kimmel added a twist by mentioning that Fortuna wasn't feeling well but might be released from the hospital soon.

Much to Kimmel's delight, Santos responded by congratulating the non-existent winner and wishing a speedy recovery.

Following this, Kimmel showcased two more prank scripts and Santos's earnest responses. Kimmel teased that he had "ordered about a dozen more" of these pranks and planned to unveil them in the upcoming week.

The comedic shenanigans didn't stop there. Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) playfully chimed in by revealing that he had sent a Cameo video from Santos to Sen.

Menendez's legal challenges and Santos's expulsion unfold amidst Kimmel's playful prank

Fetterman intended to provide some encouragement to Menendez, who is facing significant legal issues.

Menendez and his wife, Nadine, are accused of accepting substantial bribes from businessmen in New Jersey in exchange for leveraging Menendez's political influence.

The charges, including bribery, honest services fraud, extortion, and acting as a foreign agent, were brought by federal prosecutors. Menendez has consistently denied these allegations.

Santos's removal from the House occurred following a bipartisan vote, terminating his congressional tenure after merely 11 months.

The House Ethics Committee's report concluded that Santos violated federal criminal laws by misusing campaign funds for personal expenses like trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas, cosmetic procedures like Botox, shopping at luxury brands like Hermés, and subscribing to an adult content site, OnlyFans.

Kimmel's humorous antics and the subsequent Cameo exchange shed light on a political prank while poking fun at Santos's viral video venture.
