Joan Collins revealed as ‘lifelong friend’ of Donald Trump after being seen with MAGA loyalists at dinner

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Television star Joan Collins was revealed to be pro-MAGA after she was spotted in a "pre-inauguration celebration" in the company of right-wingers, Radar Online reported on Friday, January 3.

In a photograph shared by conservative actor James Wood on the social media platform X, the 91-year-old 'Dynasty' star was present front and center-left among avowed MAGA loyalists.

"Had a lovely dinner with friends, Margie and John tonight. It evolved from a post-Christmas dinner to a pre-Inauguration celebration. Not often in Hollywood, you can be surrounded by patriots. What a joyous night," Woods had captioned the post.

Among the other attendees at the dinner was Collins' fifth husband, Percy Gibson, and Angelina Jolie's father, Jon Voight.

Insider insists on close friendship between Joan Collins and Donald Trump

A source close to Joan Collins reportedly told the publication that her being MAGA should not be a surprise to anyone, as she has been a longtime friend of 78-year-old President-elect Donald Trump. 

"To Joan, Donald is not just a former president and soon-to-be MAGA president, but he is also one of her closest lifelong friends. She has run in his circle for 40 years, and they have so much love for one another," they stated.

In addition to the business tycoon, the source claimed Collins had also been close to Trump's late ex-wife Ivanna.

"But it was not only Donald who is a huge part of her life but Donald's ex-wife Ivanna, Ivanka's mom. Joan and Ivanna were so beyond close and remained friends until Ivanna's death," shared the insider.

"Joan was heartbroken when Ivanna passed because she was one of the only people who truly got her. She never let Donald and Ivanna's divorce change her love and respect for each of them," they added.

On the subject of Collins not taing part in Trump's political campaigns, the insider said, "Joan has always been quiet about her political affiliations because she does not believe this needs to be broadcast."

Joan Collins drew inspiration from Donald Trump for her 'Dynasty' character

Joan Collins had previously been vocal about Donald Trump inspiring her portrayal of Alexis Carrington Colby, the popular character in 'Dynasty'.

"It is no secret that Joan modeled her infamous Alexis character on 'Dynasty' after Donald. She has discussed her inspiration countless times over the years and said it was half Donald Trump and half another friend of hers," the insider pointed out.

"She took Donald's 'ruthlessness' for Alexis. Joan has never been shy about her love for Donald," they added.

While appearing on a chat show in the United Kingdom hosted by Jonathan Ross in 2017, Collins herself opened up about Trump's inspiration, saying, "I actually wrote about it years and years ago, that one of the people mentioned was Donald Trump."

She claimed she was drawn to Trump "because he was very harsh, tough, clever, devious, and manipulative".
