NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: During a speech at the state fairgrounds in Columbia, South Carolina on Saturday, President Joe Biden aggressively criticized former President Donald Trump, referring to him as a "loser."

However, Biden soon veered into his characteristic gaffe-prone territory.

He appeared to have a slip of the tongue when he referred to Trump as the “sitting president” and was brutally mocked by various commentators online.

Following this news, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to mock Biden as several other people on the internet also trolled POTUS.

Sean Hannity mocks Joe Biden on his latest gaffe

Fox News host Sean Hannity took to X and wrote, “WHAT WAS THAT, JOE? Biden Mocked After Calling Trump the 'Sitting President' [WATCH].”

Hannity’s tweet presented an article from his official website which reported that while Joe Biden was addressing a campaign at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds, his speech involved bashing Donald Trump.

Addressing the assembly of Democratic leaders, Biden expressed, “You’re the reason I am president,” and commended his track record of "keeping promises made."

Referring to Trump, he remarked, “You’re the reason Donald Trump is a loser.”

However, according to The New York Post, online commentators quickly pointed out that Biden appeared to be the real loser as he stumbled while discussing how "American consumers are facing real confidence in the economy we're building."

Biden said before he stumbled on his words, “Let me tell you who else is noticing that: Donald Trump.”

He continued without correcting himself, “Did you see what he recently said about … he wants to, he wants to see the economy crash this year? A sitting president. As they say in my faith, bless me Father for, I mean, come on, man.”

The New York Post reported that Biden's slip of calling himself the "sitting president" garnered widespread ridicule online.

Internet calls Joe Biden a ‘dork’

Many X users took a brutal jab at Joe Biden on his gaffe.

One person wrote, “He does not know…he is lost,” and another added, “Today is January 29th, and Joe Biden is the most CORRUPT president in US history!”

An X user simply mocked Biden saying, “What a dork!” and another wrote, “Biden is a complete mess send him for his fav ice cream in the nursing home.”

One more person slammed the POTUS, saying,  “BIDEN HAS NOTHING TO RUN ON EXCEPT HIS HATE, ANGER JEALOUSY (YES JEALOUS) OF TRUMP AND TRYING TO CONVINCE EVERYONE THAT THEY SHOULD HATE AND BE ANGRY AT TRUMP TOO!” and another said, “Traitor Joe.”
