Joe Biden blasted after he says son Hunter was denied plea deal in gun trial due to his 2024 run
DOVER, DELAWARE: President Joe Biden, who is concerned that his political career has brought attention to his family, reportedly laid the blame of his son Hunter Biden's conviction on federal gun charges on his re-election campaign.
"If I weren’t running for re-election, he would have gotten the plea deal," President Biden reportedly told a person close to him earlier this month, Politico reported Tuesday, June 11. Hunter's initial plea deal fell apart in July 2023.
Hunter Biden was found guilty on all three counts
A Delaware jury found Hunter guilty on all three counts on Tuesday. Although the maximum sentence is unlikely to be imposed, he could spend up to 25 years in prison. White House aides reportedly told the outlet the ruling would take an emotional toll on the president.

Joe Biden said he would accept Hunter Biden's gun crime trial's outcome
Before the federal trial's conclusion, in an interview with ABC News' David Muir in Normandy, France, President Biden stated he would accept its verdict. He added that if Hunter was found guilty, he would not consider pardoning him.
The first son was found guilty of making false statements in the purchase of a gun, making a false statement related to information required to be kept by a federally licensed gun dealer, and possession of a gun by a person who is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance.

"So many families who have had loved ones battle addiction understand the feeling of pride seeing someone you love come out the other side and be so strong and resilient in recovery," he continued.
