Following the death of 78-year-old Geary, Stamos is honoring his friend and former co-star.
Stamos shared a moving tribute to Geary on Instagram, revealing that their friendship extended beyond his time on the ABC show.
Stamos shared five photos of himself with Geary, including two from back in the day.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of my friend and former costar, Tony Geary,” Stamos began his caption.
“I was only 19 years old on my first job, General Hospital, and Tony could not have been kinder or more welcoming. At that age, everything feels big. He made it feel safe.”
Stamos admitted that he was “mesmerized” by Geary and would constantly stay after work to watch and learn from him.
“Watching Tony was like watching someone rewrite the rules in real time. He changed the face of daytime television. And in very real ways, he changed my life,” he shared.
