LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Johnny Depp has got a major dental makeover and his new pearly-white teeth are just the beginning of a total makeover and a career reboot, a source close to the actor told In Touch.

The actor, who had faced criticism for his yellowed and crooked teeth while attending the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, recently visited a bar in The Bahamas and unveiled a brand-new smile in a clip shared from the location.

The insider revealed, "He had no choice, his teeth were rotten to the bone and his breath reeked, and it was either veneers or risk some serious health problems, like infection and maybe even heart disease."

The source added, "It was a result of all those years of letting himself go. Now he’s done the dental work, and he can smile with confidence. His choppers gleam."

Depp's messy divorce with Amber Heard hurt his standing among Hollywood producers, and shot callers, leading to a drought of work. This led to the actor spending more than $30,000 a month on wine alone.

He said in April, "People stopped calling. I’ve been sitting around."

Johnny Depp aims to rebuild his career

The insider said that the legendary actor is now aiming to rebuild his career and took the first step with his looks. The person said, "This is the start of better things ahead. He’s become hyper aware of how certain parts of his body are falling apart and now he’s mapping out a health plan."

The source added, "He wants to build up muscle too and maybe some nip/tucks and why not? He’s finally going to do something about that pot belly, not to mention investing in some beauty rituals to polish his skin and hair and general appearance. People around him are saying it’s about time."

A source told People in May 2024 that Johnny Depp is prioritizing his health and is 'moving forward' in life. The insider said, "He is prioritizing his health and wellbeing much more these days. People were loving his look for the Jeanne du Barry UK premiere. He got a new haircut, he looked polished and clean-cut. He’s lost weight. He’s feeling and looking healthier."

The source added, "He’s taking advantage of being in this better headspace. There’s a lot of good energy, and he surrounds himself with a good group of people."

The insider also mentioned that Depp has found a cozy living situation in London. The source said, "He really feels London is a home. It is more of a quiet life, but filled with painting and music. He’s jamming out with friends and playing solo in times when he’s not focused on filmmaking."

The insider continued, "He’s focused on moving forward. He’s keeping busy. There’s a lot of good distractions, so there’s not that much time to be reminiscing on that darker period."
