Jon Stewart mocks Donald Trump as 'corruption Mr Magoo', questions criticism against Jerry Seinfeld

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jon Stewart, the comedic genius behind 'The Daily Show,' returned to the spotlight with his trademark wit and sharp commentary, this time taking aim at none other than former President Donald Trump and comedy icon Jerry Seinfeld.

In a recent episode, Stewart didn't hold back in his assessment of Trump's ongoing legal troubles, particularly in light of Michael Cohen's testimony implicating him in financial misdeeds.

Stewart's sharp wit targets Trump and Seinfeld

Drawing a striking comparison, Stewart likened Trump to the bumbling cartoon character Mr Magoo, known for miraculously escaping calamities through sheer luck.

He painted a picture of Trump as a stumbling figure, seemingly impervious to the chaos surrounding him, despite facing a barrage of felony charges related to hush money payments made to Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election.

Stewart quipped, "How lucky is Donald Trump? Donald Trump is like a corruption Mr Magoo. He’s just stumbling around, quid pro quo-ing, metal beams falling all around him [and] gets out completely unscathed."

Stewart's perplexing observation on disparate criticism

But Stewart didn't stop there. He also turned his attention to a different kind of controversy involving Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker's polarizing commencement speech, which ignited debates about cancel culture.

Stewart highlighted the stark contrast between the outrage directed at Butker and the seemingly disproportionate criticism faced by Jerry Seinfeld during his promotional tour for "Unfrosted," a Netflix project centered around Pop-Tarts.

Stewart remarked, "Jerry Seinfeld took more shit over the past two weeks promoting a Pop-Tart movie than Harrison Butker for his entire speech. And I ask you people, What is the deal with that? I legitimately would like to know why he’s taking so much shit about everything from everybody. And who are these people?"

Expressing bewilderment, Stewart questioned why Seinfeld was facing such intense scrutiny and backlash, especially in comparison to Butker's relatively mild reception.



 

Referencing Seinfeld's recent encounters, including being heckled at a comedy show and facing walkouts during a commencement speech, Stewart underscored the perplexity surrounding the comedian's ordeal.

Seinfeld faced disruption during a comedy show in Virginia by a protester advocating for Palestine. Additionally, during a commencement speech at Duke University, numerous attendees exited the venue upon his arrival at the podium.
