BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA: Jon Stewart recently shared his take on Elon Musk's endorsement of Donald Trump and his recent appearance at the GOP nominee's Butler, Pennsylvania rally on the Monday, October 7 episode of 'The Daily Show.'

Describing the Tesla CEO coming out as MAGA as an "October surprise" he didn't see coming, the comedian lamented, "Why do we never get a good October surprise or an October surprise that brings us together?"

In his monologue, Jon Stewart referenced various news stories about what could be this election year's October surprise, ranging from hurricanes to rising gas prices, before focusing on Elon Musk.

"His October surprise is he’s come out MAGA," remarked the late-night talk show host, before airing a clip of the tech mogul speaking alongside Trump at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, notably held at the site of the former president's first assassination attempt.

Musk said, "Hi everyone. As you can see, I'm not just MAGA, I'm Dark MAGA," to which Stewart quipped, "Dark MAGA? I didn't know it came in flavors."

Jon Stewart points out Donald Trump's hypocrisy in remarks about election interference

Then, Jon Stewart sarcastically remarked, "Now you might think one of the world's richest men controlling one of the world's most influential platforms could be a recipe for what some might consider election interference. You stupid, stupid people. You disgust me," before adding, "Election interference is what Mark Zuckerberg did!"

He continued by ridiculing Trump's claims that Facebook CEO Zuckerberg would unlawfully influence the 2024 election, as well as his warnings about putting him in prison.

Stewart went on to highlight how Musk recently touted a $47 referral bonus that his America PAC is offering to people for every registered swing-state voter they refer to an online petition.

He cut to a clip of Trump saying, "How good a guy is Elon Musk?" and stated, "Wait, that's not election interference because he's for you?"

Later in the segment, the comedian took aim at Musk's statement from the rally that "the Second Amendment is there to ensure that we have the First Amendment."

Stewart said, "Guns don't protect our free speech. Our free speech is protected by the consent of the governed laid out through the Constitution... Guns, for what I can tell, seem to mostly protect the speech of the people holding the gun."

"For God's sake, you guys are in Butler, Pennsylvania. The whole reason you’re there is because some f*****g a**hole with an AR-15 tried to permanently litigate his vision of this country’s free speech. That’s why you’re there. The whole point of a society is guns don't decide it," concluded 'The Daily Show' host.
