LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: On Monday night’s episode of 'The Daily Show', Jon Stewart criticized former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy for calling Donald Trump a “truth teller.”

Stewart expressed disbelief at this characterization, suggesting that Trump’s supporters are envisioning a distorted version of the former president.

In the episode, Jon Stewart presented clips of Donald Trump supporters expressing their loyalty, highlighting reasons such as his support for workers and commitment to free speech, according to The HIl.

However, he juxtaposed these statements with Trump’s own remarks that contradict those claims.

This prompted Stewart to challenge the idea that Trump, who has consistently made unfounded assertions during his political career, genuinely tells the truth.

“Are you f**king kidding me right now?” Stewart exclaimed after a clip of Ramaswamy aired during a Fox News interview, in which he referred to Trump as a “truth teller.”

Jon Stewart then aired excerpts from a recent presidential debate, emphasizing Donald Trump's false statements, such as his assertion that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, are eating residents' pets.



 

“We find ourselves not in a dilemma, but in a bit of a conundrum,” Stewart remarked. “The qualities and policies that people profess to admire about former President Trump don’t seem to accurately reflect who he is.”

He added, “It’s as though they’ve created a fictional character, a bizarro Trump.”

Stewart concluded with a pointed question: “What country does Donald Trump think he’s running to lead?”

In reaction to Stewart’s critique, a spokesperson for the Trump campaign dismissed him as “a washed-up nobody who doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”

Additionally, Jon Stewart highlighted the disconnect between Donald Trump’s reality and the way his supporters depict him.

He humorously portrayed himself as an undecided voter and pointed out the absurdity of Trump’s claims about supporting workers, comparing it to “watching ‘A Christmas Carol’ in reverse.”

Stewart contrasted the media scrutiny directed at Kamala Harris with Trump’s often incoherent speeches, ultimately challenging the fictional image of Trump crafted by his supporters.

He concluded with a sharp question about what country Trump thinks he is leading, while the Trump campaign dismissed Stewart’s remarks.
