Having struggled with weight since his teenage years, Peck weighed nearly 300 lbs at the age of 15.
He dropped 127 lbs after he followed a keto-like diet and exercise for 18 months, according to People.
However, the weight loss brought its own sets of issues. In November 2023, the 'Drake & Josh' alum reflected on his weight loss journey during his appearance on the 'Cancelled with Tana Mongeau.'
"At 17, I lost all this weight but I was like the same head but in a different body. I thought, 'I'm at the finish line. I did it. Now I just don't have to worry about anything,' " he said.
"But quickly, I was still plagued with the same thoughts and things that had plagued me my whole life. Dad issues, you name it," Peck continued.
Josh Peck opens up on his journey to sobriety at the age of 21
Peck attributed part of his tumultuous journey to his desire to compensate for his lost teenage years while building a career in showbiz and starring on the Nickelodeon show 'Drake & Josh' from 2004 to 2007.
"I also was 17 and supremely stupid, and it's time for me to catch up," he shared.

"I have to party now because I spent my teenage years alphabetizing my DVDs and not going and making out with people. So now it's time," Peck said of a period where he traded a food addiction for substance abuse.
In 2001, the comedian succeeded in getting sober at the age of 21. "To be able to have gotten out of it at 21, I feel grateful. There were a lot of close calls," he shared on the podcast.
"I just felt like a cliche. And I was breaking my mom's heart," Peck recalled the time he decided to seek treatment.
