Sharon Osbourne says she needs ‘to put on 10lbs’ as she lost 'too much’ weight due to Ozempic
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: TV personality and music manager Sharon Osbourne admitted she needs to “put back on another 10lbs” after she lost over 40lbs due to Ozempic administration.
The 71-year-old music manager recently opened up about her struggle to put on weight after she became ‘too gaunt’ after losing over 40 lbs.
‘If I could I would put back another 10’
‘The Osbournes’ star appeared on the Monday, January 15 episode of ‘Loose Women’, where she spoke candidly about her health struggles, per Daily Mail.
She shared her struggle to put back weight in after she lost way too much because of using the diabetes drug Ozempic.
Osbourne revealed, “Everything on weight with me was like "I want it now". The injections that I was on worked and just seems now I can't put anything on.”
She continued, “I lost over 40lbs, If I could I would put back another 10,” before adding, “I’m just an ordinary person who got lucky and I didn’t take advantage of that.”
The ‘X Factor’ judge shared, “Last December, I resorted to injecting myself with Ozempic, a semaglutide that fools the brain into thinking you’re not hungry. I lost 42lb — that’s 3st — but it was too much.”
She weighed on in her current weight and said, “Now, I weigh just over 7st. I need to put on 10lbs, but however much I eat, I stay the same weight.”
'I weighed more than my husband'
Osbourne candidly discussed her struggle with weight and shared with Daily Mail that she lost "too much weight" on Ozempic.
Talking about the effect of Ozempic, which sends signals in the brain to make users feel full, Osbourne shared, "At the end of the 1990s, I had an operation to have my stomach ‘banded’. The result was that I didn’t need to eat so much to feel full."
She continued, "I was never a druggie. When Ozzy and I were first together, I’d try to keep up with his drinking, but I was useless. One wine gum and I’m on the floor."
While she was not inclined into alcohol, Osbourne shared her "weakness" was always food. She explained, "When I’m happy, I eat. When I’m sad, I eat. I was a pig. At my heaviest, I weighed 225lb — that’s just over 16 stone. And I’m only 5ft 2in. I weighed more than my husband."
That was her motivation to lose weight as she said, "So, I made it my business to lose almost half my body weight."
The result was not too good, as she shared, "The result was that I had flesh hanging everywhere. My breasts were flat and sagging."
To fix the problems, Osbourne said that she had to undergo a "string of cosmetic procedures" including a browlift and facelift.
She continued, "I had liposuction on my neck and had it lifted, too. I had my breasts lifted, my arms lipo-ed and my tummy tucked. I had my bum lifted and implants inserted."
However, all her surgeries were not successful as Osbourne shared, "Then I had a facelift three-and-a-half years ago, but the guy messed up. I was left with one eye higher than the other."
"It took a year to put it all right," Osbourne noted, before adding, "I frightened myself with what happened."
The TV star, nevertheless, has now given up on surgeries as she admitted, "I’ve had enough. I’ve given up on all interventions."
She continued, "I couldn’t have much more facial surgery — there’s not that much skin left to stretch, pull or cut. And I won’t have any more fillers or Botox."
"I don’t think I’ll ever be happy with the way I look. But I’m now satisfied. It’s taken years for me to say this but I’ve learned my lesson. This is me. It’s finally time to leave well alone," said the beloved music manager.
Previously, she opened up to Daily Mail to say, "I’m too gaunt, and I can’t put any weight on. I want to because I feel I’m too skinny. I’m under 100 lbs, and I don’t want to be," and added the warning to the youngsters, "Be careful what you wish for."
'I am blessed'
Osbourne's interview with 'Loose Women' also featured her feeling lucky about what life has blessed her with.
Remembering the blessings, she said, “I never want to forget I am blessed and been really lucky in my life.”
She recalled filming the Emmy-winning reality show 'The Osbournes' adding, "It was very organic because nothing was planned. We filmed 24 hours and there were two different film crews."
She shared an update on her musician husband Ozzy Osbourne saying he is now doing "good" after getting diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019.
Reflecting on her journey as a music manager in a male-dominated industry, Osbourne remarked, "Women now are in positions of power now more than they have ever been, but men still think the same way."
"I had to protect myself by being a big mouth, by being overly vocal. I became a character that I really developed myself," shared Osbourne.
