Justin Timberlake fans baffled after wild report claims singer was on HIV medication during DWI arrest
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: After Justin Timberlake's recent DWI arrest in New York, there is a rumored drug use story circulating on social media. The fraudulent allegation, which originated from the spoof X (formerly Twitter) account 'PooCrave,' was extensively circulated without any verification.
The fake online report claimed that Timberlake was high on drugs at the time of arrest. The former NSYNC member, 43, was apprehended on June 18 in Sag Harbor, an upscale neighborhood in the Hamptons.
Online rumors claim Justin Timberlake was on drugs and HIV medication during DWI arrest
The account, Poo Crave, cleverly mimicked Pop Crave, a popular online media outlet, by using a very similar username and display picture. As a result, many individuals believed the parody profile's post that the 'Mirrors' singer "had traces" of molly, or ecstasy, in his system to be authentic.
The same profile stated that after the DWI, Timberlake had cocaine in his "bloodstream," poppers—chemicals inhaled to get high—and Truvada—a prescription drug used to treat and prevent HIV, per Daily Mail. The spoof post in question stated, "Justin Timberlake allegedly had traces of molly, poppers, Truvada, and coke in his bloodstream following his DWI arrest in New York."

Users believed the story at face value despite the dubious source, which helped the allegations gain traction. Some fans, on the other hand, have emphasized the importance of verifying the information and advised others to "google Poo Crave" before taking the rumors at face value.
The message gained 24 million views and over 25,000 retweets in a few hours, rapidly becoming viral on the internet.
In the tweet, X has since issued a caution to readers, claiming that Poo Crave was a "satire account." Additionally, it stated, "Readers added context they thought people might want to know."
Timberlake's attorney stated, "This is a satire [account]. The charge was a single count because he refused the breath test."
"Mr Timberlake was also charged with two other court citations, running a stop sign and not traveling in the correct traffic lane. No reports on a blood test," the attorney added.
Timberlake was reportedly pulled over and detained for drunk driving after apparently having dinner at the America Hotel in Sag Harbor, a source told People.
It is reported that the singer was arrested by cops while en route to a friend's residence. The person said, "Nobody was hurt."
Justin Timberlake fans shocked by fake claims of drug use
Poo Crave makes it apparent in its bio that it intends to create "chaos" to get "retweets," and that it is not to be taken seriously. However, that didn't stop the fake post from becoming viral and misleading many people.
One confused X user wrote, "The police absolutely would not have tested him for Truvada...wtf is this?"
"Now how did the public get access to his toxicology report so soon?!" exclaimed another.
A third baffled user added, "Truvada is a prescription medication used to treat HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and prevent HIV infection in people at high risk" Is there a recreational use for Truvada that Google doesn't know about?"
"TRUVADA????? He’s married wtf is he taking Prep aka HIV prevention medication," another remarked.
One wrote, "I use to think Justin Timberlake is a church going man & not a Drug addict"
"Moral of the story: You can have it all and still need to look for something that makes you feel different. Human nature is insatiable and inconfirmable," noted another one.
