MIAMI, FLORIDA: Kai Trump is settling into a very different kind of college life as she begins her freshman year at the University of Miami.

Instead of moving into a dorm, Donald Trump’s granddaughter has chosen to live in her own off-campus apartment, giving fans a closer look at the space and what she thinks about living alone.

Kai shared the apartment tour in a recent clip, showing off a full kitchen, a living room with ambient lighting, a sofa area, a workspace and her private bedroom.

Kai Trump chooses an apartment over a college dorm

The University of Miami freshman has been open about her decision not to live in a dorm.

While many of her friends will be staying on campus, Kai said she expects to spend plenty of time with them despite having her own place.

“If you guys don't know, I'm not staying in a dorm. I'm sure people were wondering about that,” Kai said in a recent YouTube video.

The apartment tour and Kai Trump’s comments about living alone begin at 11:05 in the video.

“I'm not staying in a dorm, but I have a lot of friends who are, so I'll probably spend some time in the dorms.”

Her apartment also comes with “two full baths,” although Kai admitted she had not actually visited the property herself at the time.

Her mother, Vanessa Trump, said she had already been there “many times.”

The apartment appears to be giving Kai something she may not have had in a traditional dorm setting: privacy.

While showing viewers around her new living space, Kai said she likes the independence that comes with having a place of her own.

She described it as “really nice coming home to no one,” offering a glimpse into how she feels about being on her own for the first time.

Kai Trump and Vanessa Trump prepare for the move

Getting the apartment ready was a family effort.

Kai took her mother, Vanessa Trump, on a Target shopping trip to pick up supplies for the new place, with the pair filling four carts with kitchen and bathroom items, cleaning products and toiletries.

“I'm here with my mom right now, and we are shopping for my apartment,” Kai said while shopping.

Vanessa admitted she was “exhausted” after helping with several pre-move-in jobs, including driving between Miami and the apartment to clean and wait for deliveries.

She also joked that Kai would not stay away from home for too long.

“Even though you're only an hour and a half away from my house, I know you'll miss me. You are definitely gonna be showing up to my house, I already know you are,” Vanessa said.

The apartment comes as Kai starts her college journey at the University of Miami, where she will compete for the Hurricanes’ women’s golf team.

She plans to study marketing and management during her four years at the South Florida university.

Her first days at college have already been documented online, including emotional goodbyes with friends and family as she left home.

Even with the excitement of starting college, Kai admitted the move had become overwhelming while preparing for her new home.

“This is why I haven't bought anything even though I move in three days. I get overwhelmed when I start doing this, so I just don't do it at all. I avoid,” she said.
