THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS: A heated exchange unfolded at a NATO press conference this week when CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins directly confronted President Donald Trump over his claims about US airstrikes on Iran.

The moment quickly escalated as Trump dismissed her network with his familiar “fake news” label, reports Daily Boulder.

Donald Trump took aim at the media before the question even landed. “Fake news CNN. Here we go,” he scoffed, “Wait until you hear this question. You should really say how great our soldiers and our warriors are.”

Without flinching, Collins replied, “I think everyone appreciates our soldiers and our warriors,” before continuing to ask whether Trump’s claims were based solely on Israeli intelligence.

The journalist attempted to question Trump about the intelligence he used to claim that Iran’s nuclear facilities had been “obliterated.”

Trump responded by citing updated reports, “Since then, we’ve collected additional intelligence… we’ve spoken to people who’ve seen the site. It’s obliterated. Everything nuclear is gone.”

Donald Trump also lashes out at NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell

Kaitlan Collins wasn’t the only journalist in Donald Trump’s crosshairs. The president also lashed out at NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell, accusing her of disrespecting the US military by scrutinizing the mission’s success.

“You and NBC—fake news, one of the worst—and CNN, you’re all bad,” the presdient said. “You’re trying to go after me, but you’re hurting the people who carried this out. They were devastated by the media’s reaction.”

The contentious moment reflected Trump’s growing frustration with post-strike coverage, especially as conflicting intelligence assessments about the actual damage to Iran’s nuclear infrastructure began circulating.

Later that evening, Trump took to Truth Social to amplify his outrage.

“FAKE NEWS CNN, TOGETHER WITH THE FAILING NEW YORK TIMES, HAVE TEAMED UP IN AN ATTEMPT TO DEMEAN ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL MILITARY STRIKES IN HISTORY,” he posted.

“THE NUCLEAR SITES IN IRAN ARE COMPLETELY DESTROYED! BOTH THE TIMES AND CNN ARE GETTING SLAMMED BY THE PUBLIC!” the commander-in-chief added.

Internet trolls Kaitlan Collins for trying to press Donald Trump on Iran strike

Tensions flared on air when CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins challenged President Donald Trump during a heated exchange over his recent military strike against Iranian nuclear assets, and the Internet had a lot to say.

Trump’s supporters were quick to rally behind him, praising his forceful stance and ability to push back on what they see as media spin.

One celebrated the moment, writing, “There will never be another Trump,” while another said, “Today has been so good to be ALIVE AND WITNESS THE OBLITERATION OF FAKE NEWS NETWORKS!!!”

Several users took aim at Collins directly, with a person writing, “Right? Seeing Trump take down CNN's nonsense is a treat!”

“Collins is the worst reporter. More ratings for CNN to drop,” one more wrote, while another said, “She was totally dishonest. The story treated our soldiers like incompetent thugs. She or her organization has no love of our troops. Bet she even protested the US Army on their 250th.”

"She got obliterated," another tweet read.
