AUSTIN, TEXAS: Kaitlin Armstrong, a yoga teacher found guilty of the murder of cyclist Anna Wilson has now disclosed that she was pregnant at the time of her arrest in Costa Rica.

A recent mugshot of Armstrong captured her emotionless demeanor as she commenced her 90-year sentence for Wilson's murder.

Armstrong, upon learning that Wilson had been involved with her on-and-off boyfriend Colin Strickland, 35, allegedly became enraged and fatally shot the professional cyclist multiple times, which led to her death.

A startling revelation has emerged in a plea for a new trial filed by Armstrong's attorney on December 15. The filing, obtained by Daily Mail, stated, "Kaitlin has also been pregnant twice, once occasion of which was during or near the time of her arrest."

The filing, dated December 15, was made as Armstrong's lawyer believes her sentence may have been lesser if the jury had known this.

Wilson reportedly had dinner with Colin Strickland the same night that Armstrong killed her. She was a competitive gravel and mountain bike racer from Vermont and had a brief relationship with Armystrong's on-and-off boyfriend in 2021, which proved fatal to her life.

What did Kaitlin Armstrong’s attorney say?

Armstrong's attorney seeks to present his client as a figure deserving more sympathy, a daughter of an alcoholic mother, abandoned by her father, and a victim of sexual abuse.

Armstrong’s attorney Jessica Freud penned, “As her family struggled during her childhood, her childhood friend also recalled Kaitlin was the victim of multiple instances of (actual or attempted) sexual violence.”

During Armstrong's trial last month, her former boyfriend, Colin Strickland, testified about their relationship and his "on again, off again" connection with Wilson, per The Independent. Upon discovering this relationship, Armstrong allegedly "became furious" and expressed a desire to harm Wilson.

The affidavit also disclosed that Armstrong started calling Wilson, instructing her to stay away from her boyfriend.

On the day of Wilson's murder, she had planned to meet fellow pro-cyclist Colin Strickland, with whom she had an intermittent relationship during his hiatus from Armstrong.

They went swimming at the Deep Eddy Pool public aquatic center in Austin, followed by a meal at the nearby Pool Burger, according to Strickland.

He dropped Wilson off at her friend’s home around 8.30 pm, and she was found dead hours later.

Evidence against Kaitlin Armstrong

The Assistant District Attorney, Rick Jones, claimed, “I’ve never seen so much evidence in my life against one person.

He added, "The last thing Mo Wilson did was scream in terror, She stood over her after she shot her in the head twice and put another bullet in her heart ... you heard the medical examiner. That third bullet was in her heart.”

Satellite records from the vehicle, phone-tracking data, and surveillance footage from a nearby residence depicted Armstrong's Jeep navigating the apartment vicinity and parking in an alley shortly before Wilson's demise.

Defense Attorney Rick Cofer argued to the jury that Armstrong found herself  “caught in a nightmare of circumstantial evidence.”

After a 43-day fugitive period, Armstrong was apprehended, brought back to the United States, and charged with first-degree murder.

She entered a not-guilty plea in July 2022 and has been detained at the Travis County Correctional Complex in Texas on a $3.5 million bond.

Armstrong was convicted of first-degree murder on November 16, 2023, and her anticipated release date is currently listed as 2112. Furthermore, she is ineligible to apply for parole until 2052 and is not permitted visitation.
