WASHINGTON, DC: A Democratic state legislator asked for a ceasefire in the Middle East during Vice President Kamala Harris' speech at a Christmas party.

During a Christmas dinner on Monday night, December 11, Delaware state representative Madinah Wilson-Anton yelled at the vice president as Harris was speaking, brandishing a "cease-fire" sign.

Wilson-Anton shouted, "Madam Vice President, I am a rep from Delaware. Did you know in Bethlehem they are not celebrating Christmas? Did you know in Bethlehem, baby Jesus is under rubble? Why won't you call for a cease-fire?"

"I appreciate you wanting to be heard, but right now I'm speaking," the Vice President said while cutting off the interrupter. Wilson-Anton said, "Call for a cease-fire now," as she was led out the gathering and captured on camera.

The majority of legislators are against calling for Israel and Hamas to halt hostilities; President Biden stated as much in a November 'Washington Post' opinion piece, arguing that "a cease-fire is not peace".

"As long as Hamas clings to its ideology of destruction, a cease-fire is not peace. To Hamas’ members, every cease-fire is time they exploit to rebuild their stockpile of rockets, reposition fighters and restart the killing by attacking innocents again," Biden stated.

Internet trolls Kamala Harris

Vice president Kamala Harris was trolled on X for her actions during the speech. A user wrote, "Legs Up Harris is the worst VP in history" whereas one commented, "She’s looking a little rough."

Another user mentioned, "She does not ever say anything worth hearing", while one added, "But is really speaking or is she as usual just cackling!"

A person also said, "Another clown in office", while one wrote, "I question anything coming out of her mouth as actual speach but ok..."
