OAKLAND COUNTY, MICHIGAN: A video of Vice President Kamala Harris responding to a marriage proposal during a campaign stop in Oakland County, Michigan, on Friday, October 18, has gone viral.

This was Harris' sixth trip to Michigan since she became the Democratic presidential nominee. She stopped in Grand Rapids' Riverside Park and Lansing to speak to a room full of union auto workers. Harris ended the trip with an evening rally at the Oakland County Expo Center, reported Newsweek.

In the viral video shared by @RpsAgainstTrump on X (formerly Twitter), an attendee at the rally asked Harris, "Will you marry me?" To which she replied, "I'm married happily! But there are tons of single women here or men, whatever you prefer!"

The original TikTok video, which was shared on X, has so far received more than 110K views and was liked by more than 3,000 people on X.

Battleground states such as Michigan will be crucial in deciding the fate of the presidential election.

Kamala Harris discusses economy, health care, and abortion rights

During her rally in Michigan, Kamala Harris discussed her policy plans on the economy, manufacturing, health care, and abortion rights, reported Michigan Daily.

Harris' visits to Michigan are aimed to build support among union workers and Muslim and Arab-American voters.

She then focused on the importance of elections and said, "We understand what is at stake. This election is about two very different visions for our nation. One, Donald Trump’s, that’s focused on the past, and the other, ours, that is focused on the future."

Harris continued, "We are focused on a future where we bring down the cost of living, invest in small businesses and entrepreneurs, and protect reproductive freedom."

Kamala Harris' reply to marriage proposal divides Internet

People on the internet had mixed reactions after Kamala Harris responded to the marriage proposal during a campaign event in Michigan.

One person wrote on X, "Nothing like a president that knows how to joke and have a great time," while another added, "She answered very demure, very mindful, vote for her."



 



 

One person stated, "Her response is awesome and so empathetic. She has the character to be an amazing POTUS," whereas another mentioned, "Well just because of that she’s lost my vote."
