Karlie Kloss says she has 'never met' Trump despite being married to Joshua Kushner
MALIBU, CALIFORNIA: Supermodel Karlie Kloss opened up about her political views, her marriage into the Kushner family, and the public attention surrounding both in a new interview with host Emily Chang for Bloomberg Originals, released on Wednesday, July 1.
Kloss also addressed questions about President Donald Trump, discussed navigating political differences within her extended family, and reflected on maintaining privacy with her husband, Joshua Kushner, and their three children.

Kloss married venture capitalist Joshua Kushner in 2018, becoming part of the extended Kushner family, as he is the younger brother of US Special Envoy for Peace Jared Kushner, who is married to Ivanka Trump.
Despite that connection, in an interview conducted by Chang, she was asked whether she had ever had any conversations with the president about politics. Responding directly, she said, "I have never met President Trump."
Earlier in the interview, she also discussed the scrutiny surrounding her marriage because of Joshua's family ties to Jared and Ivanka. "I know who I am. I know the values that guide my life, and the issues that I care about. I haven't lost sight of who I am. But also, it's my husband's family," she said.
Reflecting on her upbringing in Missouri, Kloss explained that growing up exposed her to a range of political perspectives.
"We're sitting here in St Louis which is a blue dot in a red state. Since as long as I can remember, I've always been exposed to a lot different political points of view. I think that trained me for my life," she said.
She also made her political affiliation clear, saying, "I'm a Democrat."
She added that political disagreements do not have to prevent personal relationships. "I think it's possible to have relationships with people you politically don't align with. This country has always been a place for dialogue. We have to be able to talk to each other," she said.

The interview also revisited a 2021 post on X, formerly Twitter, in which Kloss wrote to a fan that she had "tried" to discuss former President Joe Biden's 2020 election with Jared and Ivanka.
Both served as senior White House aides during Trump's first term, and the post has since appeared to have been deleted.
Beyond politics, she also spoke about family life with Joshua, whom she has been with since she was 19. The couple share three children: sons Levi and Elijah, and daughter Rae, who was born on September 18, 2025.
Speaking about maintaining privacy, she said, "We really care about our real life. Nobody else deserves access to that." She added that she established those boundaries with the public "long before" Trump was first elected in 2016.
"As a model, I think it was definitely a line I had to walk," she said. Kloss previously addressed the attention surrounding her marriage, telling British Vogue in 2019 that dealing with the public scrutiny had not been easy.
"It's been hard," she said, adding, "But I choose to focus on the values that I share with my husband, and those are the same liberal values that I was raised with and that have guided me throughout my life."
