LONDON, ENGLAND: According to reports, the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has spent more time outdoors with her family in recent weeks.

Following the announcement of her cancer diagnosis, Buckingham Palace officials claimed to have received "tens of thousands" of get-well cards.

Although many may view Kate going out with her family as a good sign, Kensington Palace made it clear that she still needs space and time for recovery, per Daily Mail.

Royal staff inundated with 'tens of thousands' of well-wishes for Kate

The Princess of Wales has distanced herself from the public eye in order to focus on her medical care and healing while also looking out for her small family.

Royal analyst Richard Eden previously told Daily Mail, "No one wants to put any pressure [on Middleton]. The only thing that matters at the moment is her getting better. She has been through an ordeal this year."

"What this means in practice is that big decisions, such as the appointment of new staff, can wait. It’s a reflection of Her Royal Highness’s importance to the future of the Monarchy that she has been given as much time as she needs," Eden added.

However, the public's outpouring of love for the Princess has not stopped; the royal staff has been inundated with numerous cards, letters, and gifts from well-wishers.

The staff has occasionally found it challenging to manage the sheer amount of messages. Staff members do, however, eventually desire to respond to every well-wisher.

The Court Post Office handles all correspondence with members of the Royal Family, while the Prince and Princess of Wales have their own private office at Kensington Palace.

The palace would typically receive up to 1,000 letters a week from people everywhere, asking all kinds of questions or wishing specific royals well.

However, that has been much exceeded by what the palace has experienced since the Princess's health concerns were made public.

The Princess of Wales announced her cancer diagnosis on Instagram in March 2024, saying that the illness was discovered in her body following a successful stomach surgery.

Kate has been spotted out and about more with her family recently, which will be interpreted favorably by many, although there has not been any official information on her health since.

Kate Middleton may not make another public appearance until 2025

According to insiders close to the royal family, Kate is not expected to make any public appearances for the remainder of 2024 due to her ongoing cancer treatment.

The Princess will probably miss "the rest of the year" of public appearances while undergoing cancer treatment, per The Daily Beast, which cited people with close ties to the royal family.

One royal source and friend of Kate and Prince William said: "There is nothing planned. She may not appear in public for the rest of the year."

According to the acquaintance, Kate has chosen to confide in and rely on her family more than on the friends she and William have.

"The circle of trust is tiny. She has been surrounded by Carole and Michael, and (sister) Pippa and (brother) James have obviously been there for her as well," the friend added.

The close source said of Kate's family, "They are an incredibly tight family, and Catherine feels absolutely confident relying on them. They have been there for her for decades and never let her down."

Another friend of Kate and William told the outlet, "The key thing for her now is avoiding any kind of stress or anxiety and just getting on with the business of getting better. They will bail out and be off to Sandringham the moment school breaks up."

It has been five months since Kate was last sighted in public, and if she is going to be absent for several more months, the Palace might think it necessary to provide another update, either through a video or a more conventional statement.
