LONDON, ENGLAND: Following rumors that this would be Kate Middleton's first public appearance since her abdominal surgery, the British Army's website discreetly removed her name from the participants for the Colonel's Review on Tuesday, March 5.

The 42-year-old Princess of Wales—recovering from abdominal surgery—was initially listed on the official army website as conducting the yearly review of soldiers at the Horse Guards Parade in London on June 8.

However, Princess Kate's Kensington Palace office claimed on March 5 that they had not been contacted regarding her presence. Thus, the event's website selling tickets no longer lists Princess Kate's name, per PEOPLE.

Every year, 1,400 troops participate in the Horse Guards Parade, which serves as a prelude to the Trooping the Colour parade. This would have been Kate's first public appearance since her January 16 abdominal surgery.

Before her name was removed, the Princess of Wales was reported to be inspecting the Foot soldiers at the pre-Trooping the Colour ceremony in her capacity as the honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards.

Kate—who has attended every event since her 2011 marriage to Prince William—would normally conduct the Colonel's Review the weekend before the event, as Number 9 Company of the Irish Guards is leading the procession this year.

The members will line the processional path along London's Mall after the inspection. Trooping the Colour is a series of formal events held to commemorate King Charles III's birthday, though the monarch's real birthday falls in November, per the New York Post.

Prince William, 41, would usually ride on a horse with his father, accompanied by other royal family members including Princess Anne. However, it is now uncertain if King Charles, who is receiving cancer treatment, will be able to participate actively in the celebrations this year.

Princess Kate is recovering at home in Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Castle estate following surgery on January 16. According to her office, she won't be back to work until after Easter, which is on March 31.

To complicate the situation further, Kate and William typically take time off to be with their kids, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, who are also on school vacation, during that period. As a result, it's possible that she won't undertake any public engagements until mid-April.

Kate Middleton spotted after surgery with her mother Carole Middleton

The Princess of Wales would have made her first public appearance at this royal event, following her recent sighting during an unexpected outing with her mother, Carole Middleton.

After having her anticipated stomach surgery, Kate was spotted for the first time on Monday, March 4.

The Princess of Wales was seated in the passenger seat of an Audi being driven by her mother, Carole Middleton, close to Windsor Castle, per photos obtained by the New York Post.

The royal member rode in the passenger seat looking serious, showcasing her brunette hair down her shoulders and hiding her eyes behind sunglasses. The mother of three appeared healthy despite her gloomy demeanor.

Since Kate stepped away from the public eye to recuperate from abdominal surgery, there have been constant rumors regarding her well-being.

Her spouse Prince William's withdrawal from his Godfather's memorial ceremony due to a "personal matter" raised more questions about her health.

Kensington Palace, however, stated in January that they would "only be providing significant updates" and that Kate would return to royal duties after Easter.
