Kathleen Turner responds to Michael Douglas’ 40-year-old affair reveal: ‘What a fuss’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kathleen Turner broke her silence on the new revelations about her past relationship with Michael Douglas. Her comments came after Douglas’ new memoir revealed details about their 40-year-old 'secret' romance, which the former co-stars had kept private for decades.
Turner said she is looking forward to reading the memoir, 'One Helluva Ride,' while also sharing her reaction on the renewed attention over their past relationship.

During an interview with PEOPLE, the 'Peggy Sue Got Married' actress shared, "Good heavens, what a fuss about something 40 years ago!" She also said, "I love Michael, and I look forward to enjoying the book."
Meanwhile, in Douglas’ autobiography, the actor revealed how he fell in love with Turner while filming their 1984 blockbuster movie 'Romancing the Stone' in Mexico. He added that, at the time, he was going through a difficult period in his marriage to his then-wife, Diandra Douglas, with whom he shares son Cameron.
For those unaware, Turner and Douglas worked together on several projects, including 'Romancing the Stone' in 1984, 'The Jewel of the Nile' in 1985, 'The War of the Roses' in 1989, and 'The Kominsky Method' in 2021.

Douglas opened up about every nook and corner of his life in his autobiography. However, the biggest surprise was his confession of a secret romance with Turner in the 1980s. The actor revealed that he "fell hard" for Turner and was "knocked sideways" by her.
"We found each other first as friends, then as co-stars, and finally as lovers," he said. "The chemistry I had with Kathleen Turner was so strong, audiences have been certain for years that we were in a relationship together while making the film."
"We both denied it through 'Romancing the Stone,' 'Jewel of the Nile,' 'War of the Roses,' and even while doing press a few years ago for 'The Kominsky Method,'" Douglas wrote.
"The official story went as follows: Yes, we confessed, we had amazing chemistry. Yes, we were both, as Kathleen said, 'terrible flirts,' and yes, we were both tempted, but nothing ever happened between us," he continued. "That was a lie."
Douglas also shared that he and Turner would go to dinner together or with a group before he would sneak into her hotel room after everyone was asleep. The romance was kept so hush-hush that even the film’s director, Robert Zemeckis, and Douglas’ co-star Danny DeVito were unaware of what was happening between the two co-stars.
