Kid Rock waves gun at Rolling Stone reporter, asks him to write 'horrific' article about him
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Robert James Ritchie aka Kid Rock has experienced a decline in public approval, despite having notable hits such as 'Bawitdaba', 'Picture', and 'All Summer Long'.
According to Uproxx, this sudden fall is attributed to his controversial behavior and viewpoints.
Recently, Rock has garnered attention for brandishing a gun at a reporter and instructing him to compose the most unfavorable article possible. Notably, the reporter alleged that Rock repeatedly used racial slurs during the incident.
What did the reporter claim about his interview with Kid Rock?
During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the conservative-leaning musician purportedly brandished a firearm at the journalist and repeatedly used racial slurs.
In April, reporter David Peisner visited Kid Rock at his Nashville residence for an interview primarily focused on politics and his steadfast backing of Donald Trump, whom he affectionately dubbed his "bestie."
However, after consuming wine and "at least three or four" Jim Beam and Diet Coke cocktails, Peisner claimed the artist became intoxicated and confrontational.
During a political disagreement, Rock allegedly retrieved a gun from behind his chair, waving it in Peisner's face while exclaiming, "And I got a f**king goddamn gun right here if I need it! I got them everywhere!"
Despite the singer-songwriter displaying his firearm, the conversation persisted for over an hour, during which Rock casually used racial slurs without hesitation.
According to Peisner, the artist used the N-word multiple times while reminiscing about past discussions with friends, but this wasn't an isolated incident as per Page Six.
The reporter noted, "It’s worth mentioning these are not the only times Ritchie drops the N-word during my visit. It’d be easy to label this as the rantings of a drunk racist, but as with everything that Ritchie does, it’s hard to know how calculated it all is."
Kid Rock ends up in ‘chest to chest’ confrontation with reporter
Over the past ten years, Rock has become increasingly divisive, transitioning from a jovial country rocker to a vocal advocate of MAGA ideals.
He conceded, "I’m part of the problem. I’m one of the polarizing people, no question. Sometimes I bitch about other people, then I look in the mirror and I’m like, ‘Oh, yeah, why don’t you shut the f**k up too?'"
In other parts of the interview, Rock made troubling remarks about immigrants and Black individuals, even jesting about his middle-aged white butler being called the racially insensitive nickname "Uncle Tom."
However, Peisner also spoke with several of the musician's former acquaintances, many of whom question whether Rock's persona is merely a facade to navigate "the emotional fallout of a waning career" rather than reflecting genuine right-wing convictions.
When the interviewer, whom Rock labeled a "college snowflake," requested to depart, Rock resisted.
In fact, they ended up in a ‘chest to chest’ confrontation, with Rock getting in Peisner's face. Eventually, Rock relented and agreed to drive the journalist half a mile to his car. Upon reaching the driveway on Rock's ATV, they shook hands before the rapper made one final request.
He asked, "Would you do me a favor? Just write the most horrific article about me. Do it. It helps me.."
