MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: On Wednesday evening, Fox News surprised viewers by cutting away from Kimberly Guilfoyle’s speech at the Republican National Convention to instead feature an "interview" with a dog in the audience.

As Guilfoyle, the fiancee of Donald Trump J, took the stage for her much-anticipated address, Fox News quickly diverted attention from her speech.

Fox News shifts focus to Johnny Belisario’s lighthearted audience interviews

According to The Mediaite, the network switched to Johnny Belisario, their man on the street, who was engaging with delegates and convention-goers.

Belisario’s segment took a humorous turn when he began interacting with a dog in the audience. “And we have a dog over here. First dog delegate. How are you feeling?” Belisario asked, playfully holding the microphone up to the canine.

He added, “Kristi Noem was the other night, so I think you should be good,” referencing the unsavory incident of the South Dakota governor shooting her dog.

As Guilfoyle’s speech played faintly in the background, Belisario continued his light-hearted interviews with members of the audience. The network then cut to its panel of hosts, where Sean Hannity interviewed Eric Trump about his wife’s RNC speech from the night before.

Fox News’ decision contrasts with CNN’s extensive coverage of Guilfoyle’s speech

This decision was in sharp contrast to CNN’s coverage, which aired the majority of Guilfoyle’s speech that evening.

During her address, Guilfoyle spoke passionately about recent political events, including the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. “I know that God has put an armor of protection over Donald Trump,” she declared.

She also reflected on the significance of the upcoming election, saying, “We are all reminded that love for our nation and the beauty of life itself transcends all hatred and political divisions. I stand before you tonight, more convinced than ever, this is the most important election in our lifetime.”

Social media reactions: viewers weigh in on Fox News’ decision to cut away from Guilfoyle’s speech

The decision by Fox News to cut away from Kimberly Guilfoyle’s RNC speech in favor of a light-hearted segment with a dog prompted a flurry of reactions on social media.

One user wrote, "Makes sense, the dog is more articulate & honest anyway."

Another user added, "Kim always makes me want to go fishing."

Another user added, "The trump years are not wearing well on her."

One user said, "Are you sure they cut away to a dog and didn't just show a close up of Kimberly?"

One commented, "Fox News Cuts Away From Kimberly Guilfoyle’s RNC Speech to Interview a Dog Couldn’t tell the difference."

Another replied, "Makes sense. Any dog is more photogenic than this Golem women."

One user said, "Whatever Guilfoyle did, Fox News management isn't over it yet."

One replied, "Plastic surgery disaster. She looks like a muppet now."

One wrote, "That Kimberly, she scares all the other gargoyles off the rooftops, that I can tell you!"
