WASHINGTON, DC: Lara Trump, RNC co-chair and daughter-in-law of former president Donald Trump, addressed concerns about her father-in-law's response to a potential loss in the 2024 election, during an interview with NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo on Wednesday, August 7.

She emphasized that if Donald Trump were to lose to Vice President Kamala Harris under “legal and legitimate” circumstances, there would be “no problem".

Lara Trump emphasizes RNC's commitment to election integrity

Chris Cuomo questioned Lara Trump about concerns that Donald Trump might not adhere to democratic principles unless the election outcome was favorable to him.

In response, Lara Trump highlighted the efforts of the Republican National Committee (RNC) to maintain election integrity.

She said, “Look, my job at the RNC and our number one focus at the RNC, Chris, has been election integrity. You can argue whatever you want about the 2020 election, but there is no doubt that half the country, maybe more, feels like there was something off in that election, and it is integral to who we are as Americans that we trust our electoral process, so our number one job at the RNC has been ensuring election integrity."

"We have trainings all across the country because we believe actually making people part of the process demystifies it. We want people in the room to have eyes on every time a vote is cast and every time a vote is counted, and we believe if every legal vote is counted come November 5th, Donald Trump will be president.”

Lara Trump addresses January 6 controversy

Addressing ongoing discussions about the January 6 Capitol riot, Lara Trump pointed out that despite Donald Trump's refusal to accept the 2020 election results, he did indeed leave the White House.

Lara Trump assured, “Now people of course try to argue about January 6th all the time. I understand that. Here’s the reality. Donald Trump did leave the White House. Donald Trump, even despite the fact that he does not believe he lost that election in 2020, he left the White House. There will be no problem.”

She concluded, “It is my job to make sure that people who are voting for Donald Trump feel like their vote matters and their vote counts, and I can assure you, if he does not legally and legitimately win this election, there will be no problem.”

Donald Trump's supporters had stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021, two months after his defeat in the 2020 election. Trump continues to claim that the 2020 election was "stolen" from him due to widespread voter fraud.

Joe Biden recently expressed concern that if Trump loses in the 2024 election, there might be a power tussle. During an interview, Biden said, "I mean, if Trump loses, I’m not confident at all. He means what he says, we don’t take him seriously, he means it — all the stuff about if we lose, there’ll be a bloodbath, it will have to be a stolen election."

Internet reacts to Lara Trump's assurances

In response to Lara Trump's assurances about Donald Trump's potential reaction to a loss in the 2024 election, social media users mocked her.

One user commented, "Yes, and the man who replace him testified Walz was informed of the deployment at least 6 months prior to its issuance."

Another added, "All Trumps and Trumpsters Lie All of the time."

One said, "Trump lost legally and legitimately last time as well. Yet we still got Jan 6th.

One said, "How do Trumps lie so shamelessly?"

Another user said, "Lara, no one wants or needs your validation on whether an election was fair or not. That's for the court to decide you soccer mom goonie monster."

One commented, "I am reassured that Lara Trump says Donald Trump will go quietly into the night when he loses in November LMAO."
