WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News contributor Leslie Marshall took a stand against conservative commentator Tomi Lahren following Lahren’s accusations that Democratic candidates, including Tim Walz, are deceptive about their records.

During a Fox News panel discussion on Sunday, August 25, Lahren criticized Walz, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, for allegedly not being transparent about the fertility treatment he and his wife used to start a family. She claimed the Walz couple had used intrauterine insemination (IUI) but claimed to have used in vitro fertilization (IVF) instead.

Tomi Lahren criticizes Tim Walz for his 'little white lies' but Leslie Marshall hits back

"His pattern of telling little white lies or little fibs, it does reveal that maybe he does have an issue with being fully transparent, or maybe his truth is different than the actual truth," Tomi Lahren said.

Leslie Marshall quickly responded, highlighting a double standard in Lahren’s critique.

“I try not to laugh out loud, and no offense, because I love Tomi, when anybody on the right with Donald Trump as their candidate has any say about anybody else telling a white lie, a big lie, a little lie, a purple lie, whatever lie, Donald Trump tells a lot of lies,” Marshall pointed out.

“So if you’re going to do that, you know, on one side of the aisle, please turn inward and look at your own candidate.”

Discrepancy over fertility treatments sparks controversy

The controversy centers around recent revelations that Tim Walz and his wife used IUI to address infertility, contrary to earlier statements that suggested they used IVF, as per The Hill.

Republicans have seized on this discrepancy to accuse Walz of misleading voters for political gain.

Gwen Walz, the governor’s wife, clarified that they chose IUI, not IVF, to conceive. Walz had previously described his experience with treatments “like IVF” in his criticisms of Republican efforts to restrict access to fertility services.

The Harris-Walz campaign contends that Walz used simpler language to make the concept more accessible, while critics argue that he was being deliberately misleading.

Republicans question Tim Walz’s motives over misleading fertility treatment claims

Sen JD Vance (R-Ohio), the Republican vice presidential nominee, expressed confusion over why Tim Walz would lie about such a matter.

“It’s just such a bizarre thing to lie about, right?” Vance said. “There’s nothing wrong with having a baby through IVF or not having a baby through IVF. Like, why lie about it? I just don’t understand that.”

Donald Trump Jr and Meghan McCain also weighed in, with Trump Jr accusing Walz of dishonesty on social media and McCain questioning the governor's integrity in her online remarks.

GOP strategist Matt Wolking echoed these sentiments, suggesting that Walz’s misleading statements might erode voter trust, especially given past scrutiny over his military service claims.

Even CNN’s Jake Tapper critiqued Walz, noting inaccuracies in his statements about IVF, which contrasted with his campaign messaging and Vice President Harris’s expertise on reproductive rights.
