NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Tuesday, January 16, Hoover Institute senior fellow Victor Davis Hanson appeared on 'The Ingraham Angle' and praised Donald Trump's landslide win at the Iowa caucuses.

He also analyzed the reasons why the liberal media is supposedly inadvertently boosting the former president in the polls, likening the impact to that of an "addict."

Following the show, Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her conversation with Hanson, and her followers wasted no time sharing their opinions regarding his remarks.

Victor Davis Hanson notes how liberal media is helping Donald Trump achieve his 'amazing' political comeback

In her post on X (formerly Twitter), Ingraham wrote, "Victor Davis Hanson: Trump achieved the most amazing political comeback in American history."

Hanson was present on the show to primarily discuss Trump's recent triumph in the Iowa caucus, where he took the first place with around 51 percent support.

When Ingraham suggested that the liberal media avoided acknowledging the ex-POTUS' willingness to collaborate with Democrats on urban rebuilding efforts, Hanson argued that the liberal media's attempt to "overwhelm Trump" with "falsities" only serves to diminish their credibility rather than undermining him.

He noted, "Well, you know, I think they think that the more they have the biased coverage and the more they spread falsities about Trump, they’re like straws on the proverbial Trump camelback — they can finally just overwhelm him. But, in fact, as we’ve seen [in] the last year or two, the opposite is true."

Hanson added, "The more they lie and they do not apologize and they do not correct the record and the more they’re found out, the less credibility they have and the more popularity Donald Trump had in the primaries. And I think that’s going to extend to the general election because they can’t stop."

"They have a Trump fix. They’re like an addict. And they know it’s not helping them, but they can’t stop it, because they’re addicted to it. And so they’re going to continue what you saw last night, all through the next year, and I think what little credibility they have left will be shot and it’s going to help Donald Trump," opined the military historian.

Hanson further conveyed, "You know, I think we forget that without these media — people, the whole January 6 armed insurrection, or most of the lies about the origins of COVID and social distancing and masking, or the circumstances of George Floyd’s death — and the rioting that happened."

"Not to mention disinformation on the laptop or Russian collusion. All of that wouldn’t have had any resonance; they fabricated, constructed, exaggerated all of that," continued the political commentator.

Hanson concluded, "And yet, it didn’t destroy Donald Trump. He’s got the most amazing political comeback in American political history. And I think that’s partly because of the news media’s bias."

After Trump's Iowa caucus win on Monday, January 15, MSNBC and CNN apparently decided to not air his victory speech in full, as per The Hill

Internet weighs in on Victor Davis Hanson's claims regarding Donald Trump's political comeback

Soon after Ingraham posted her conversation with Hanson on X (formerly Twitter), her followers and netizens came in with their opinions regarding the remarks.

One wrote, "It is a little early to say that, VDH," and another said, "Okay, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. There’s still 90+ federal and state indictments, probable convictions, possible imprisonment, civil cases and local, state, appeals and Supreme Court decisions to deal with."

A person remarked, "It wasn’t a comeback.  He was always ahead," with someone else chiming in, "He never left."

"NO he is a crook that he has achieved...And you are just lying to the people," mentioned a naysayer and one more claimed, "Amazing comeback? LOL!! He got 56,000 votes of the meager 100,000 cast, or only 3% of the population of Iowa. This is not a big win by any means!"
