Since the tragic event, heartbreaking information about Liam Payne's final days in South America has surfaced, including his final wish. Payne reportedly told a fan over an hour before his tragic death how much he "loved" Buenos Aires and how he wanted to buy a home there.
Devoted admirer Diana Gauna revealed her touching experience with the singer in the lobby of his boutique hotel at approximately 3 pm on Wednesday, October 16, during which he declared his love for the city.
An emotional Diana recalled their conversation on the Argentine television program TN Central and said, "Liam looked in good shape, not drunk or aggressive like they've been saying on social media."
"He approached us and spent quite a bit of time talking to us and telling us about his experiences in Buenos Aires, the places he'd been to and where he wanted to go."
Diana added, "He said he loved the city and would like to buy a home here, that he loved the countryside around Buenos Aires," per The Mirror.
Diana also described how Payne enjoyed the local countryside with his girlfriend, saying: "Liam also told us during the conversation that he'd been to the countryside with his girlfriend, that on Sunday morning about 7am they'd gone out running together. He told us he was really enjoying Buenos Aires."
Diana recounted how she "began to see strange movements and a police patrol car and fire engine turned up" during her stay at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel.
She said: "I never thought it was Liam because I had seen him just over an hour earlier and he seemed okay," expressing her shock to hear that the singer was discovered dead.
She continued, gripped with emotion: "Finding out someone is dead that you've just seen was really shocking. He was my idol. Liam spoke a lot about mental health and in his songs told us we are never alone. This is all very hard. As fans we are in a lot of pain."
