Liam Payne's heartbreaking last photo shows final walk to hotel room moments before tragic plunge

BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA: A heartbreaking photo of Liam Payne, the beloved former star of 'One Direction', went viral on social media. 

The image captured his erratic behavior during his final moments as he returned to his hotel room before the tragic fall. Payne lost his life on October 16 after falling from the third floor of the hotel where he was vacationing in Buenos Aires.

According to the US Sun, the photo was believed to be Liam Payne's final image, capturing him as he returned to the CasaSur hotel in the Palermo neighborhood on Wednesday, October 16. This photograph depicted the 31-year-old singer just moments before he took the elevator to his hotel room. 

Staff members reported that Payne was behaving erratically and tragically died instantly from severe injuries, including a fractured skull. He had traveled to Argentina to support his former bandmate Niall Horan and was caught on surveillance cameras while entering the hotel. In the photo, Liam Payne was seen wearing a white sleeveless top, with his tattooed arms visible.

According to Alberto Crescenti, the Chief of Buenos Aires emergency services, Payne sustained a cranial fracture and suffered extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death. 

He reported, “The alarm was raised at 5.04 pm local time saying a person was lying in an internal patio at Casa Sur. Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life. Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.”

Liam Payne was found dead after two frantic calls

A terrifying 911 call revealed that Liam Payne was behaving "erratically" before his death, with witnesses claiming he needed to be carried back to his room.

The head of hotel reception made two chaotic calls to emergency services, stating, "We have a guest who is destroying everything in his room. We need someone to come." 

The caller expressed concern, saying, "They must be in a room that has a balcony. And well, we’re a little bit worried he’ll do something, that he’ll put his life at risk."

Police were dispatched to the hotel after staff reported an "aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol." Witnesses indicated that Liam Payne had smashed his laptop and other items in his room. When authorities arrived at around 5 pm, they found him dead in the hotel’s inner courtyard.

Following his death, the family shared a heartfelt tribute, stating, "We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space during this awful time." 

In a display of grief, heartbroken fans gathered outside the hotel for candlelight vigils, leaving flowers and handwritten messages tied to a tree. Tributes poured in from fans, fellow celebrities, and former One Direction bandmates, all mourning the loss of the beloved singer at the age of 31.
