Liam Payne’s ex Maya Henry claims One Direction bandmate Zayn Malik threw him against wall during fight
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Liam Payne's former girlfriend Maya Henry recently revealed that Zayn Malik once threw Payne against a wall during a brawl between the former One Direction bandmates backstage.
One Direction, which debuted on 'The X Factor' in 2010, went on to become one of the most popular boy bands of all times.
However, after one of the band's primary vocalists, Malik, declared his desire to quit the band in 2015, the fandom experienced intense sadness and rage for the first time.
Maya Henry reveals it was Zayn Malik who pushed Liam Payne against the wall
Liam Payne had earlier discussed the tensions that were rising inside One Direction. One such incident was a violent altercation that took place backstage and served as a precursor to later events.
During his interview on Logan Paul's podcast 'Impaulsive', Payne discussed the heated altercation that took place before a performance, in which an unidentified band member became enraged and pushed Payne against a wall.
The bandmate, according to Payne, "threw me up a wall," per Variety. Blasting in response, Payne said, "If you don’t remove those hands there’s a high likelihood you’ll never use them again," suggesting that he was unwilling to back down.

Payne declined to identify the person, so fans were left to speculate on who it might be— Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, or Louis Tomlinson.
Payne's ex-partner Maya Henry had already brought up the narrative in several videos and interviews. But this is the first time she has identified Payne's attacker.
Henry recently disclosed that the 'Strip That Down' singer was thrown against a wall by Malik.
While many fans erupted into a frenzy upon learning of Henry's abrupt confirmation of Malik's involvement in the past backstage fight, the majority of followers were left perplexed by it.
The band members felt burnt out by 2016 after five years of relentless touring, which included five albums and several world tours. One Direction eventually declared their break to allow for rest and further growth in their individual endeavors.
Liam Payne earlier admitted to 'disliking' Zayn Malik
Liam Payne of One Direction opened out about his real feelings about his time in the boy band during a 2022 interview on 'Impaulsive'.
The then-28-year-old singer described how he nearly "came to blows" backstage with a fellow band member and vented his frustrations over other former members.
Payne frowned and began, "It was well-known within the band that I don’t like taking s**t. There was one moment where there was an argument backstage and one member, in particular, threw me up a wall."
"So I said to him, ‘If you don’t remove those hands there’s a high likelihood you’ll never use them again'."
Payne discussed Malik's previous issues, including one that made headlines on X in 2020 involving Paul's brother Jake Paul, even though he didn't reveal who got into the altercation.
During the interview, Payne mentioned his tense connection with Malik as well. "There's many reasons why I dislike Zayn and there's many reasons why I'll always, always be on his side," he stated.
The 'Bedroom Floor' singer added: "If I had had to go through what he went through — with his growth and whatever else… My parents are overly supportive to the point where it’s annoying at times. Zayn had a different upbringing in that sense."
"Listen, I don't agree with any of his actions. I can't commend some of the things that he's done. I can't be on his side for that," Payne said, per SPIN 1038.
Payne later clarified his remarks against Malik in response to the criticism he received on X since his interview on the 'Impaulsive' podcast.
He tweeted at the time: "Guys — I wouldn’t normally comment on this stuff but when its your family it’s hard to let it slide. They mentioned a specific incident involving Zayn which I responded to — but listening back maybe I didn’t articulate myself as well as I could have."
"I was saying that there will always be things we disagree on but that I will always, always be on his side. That’s family. Zayn is my brother and I will stand by him forever."
