WASHINGTON, DC: Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has finally addressed a longstanding question among followers of US politics regarding his initial harsh criticism of Donald Trump when he entered politics.

However, once Trump was elected, Graham became one of his strongest supporters and has remained steadfast ever since. Nevertheless, Graham's well-documented shift in political allegiance also means that his earlier criticisms of Trump continue to be remembered.

In a clear example of Graham's past disdain for Trump, he tweeted in March 2016, stating, "If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed.......and we will deserve it."

Significantly, several developments have occurred since the tweet was first posted, including changes in ownership of the social media platform now called X, Graham's shift in support towards Trump, and updates to the comments section.

Furthermore, critics of Trump dominate the comments section of Graham's article, suggesting that Graham had access to information that others did not.

Recently, law professor Jen Taub decided to ask Graham a question that many have been pondering: considering his change in stance towards Trump, why hasn't he simply taken down the post?

On social media, Taub shared a video of the exchange along with the message, "Yes, I asked him."

While conversing with the senator behind the scenes during CNN's presidential debate between Trump and Joe Biden, Taub is audibly heard stating, "I've always wondered why you've kept... my name is Jennifer... why you kept a tweet up on Twitter that you said years ago that if we nominate Donald Trump, then we will be destroyed as a party. Why did you not take the tweet down?"

Graham replied, "I don't know. I didn't know I didn't take it down."
