LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In the unpredictable world of politics, alliances can shift like sand, and friendships can turn into frenemies at the drop of a hat. South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham's journey with former President Donald Trump is a perfect testament to this rollercoaster of political relationships.

Recently, Graham's wild ride took an unexpected turn as he made startling confessions under oath, seemingly throwing Trump under the bus.

Lindsey Graham calls Trump 'the toughest guy I've ever seen'

The saga began with Graham's seemingly unwavering loyalty to Trump, a loyalty that he proudly proclaimed on Fox News, likening Trump to the toughest leader since Ronald Reagan.

"The people of South Carolina believe that Donald Trump was the best Republican president since Ronald Reagan. I endorsed Donald Trump on day one because I saw, from a front-row position, four years of the toughest guy I’ve ever seen in Washington," Graham declared.

Meyers, in his signature comedic style, played with Graham's quirky analogy, where the senator compared Trump's toughness to surviving a walk through a bird cemetery. The transition to a personal tale about Graham's Mee-Maw added a delightful touch.

"[As Graham] He’s the toughest guy I’ve ever seen. The man walked through a bird cemetery and lived to tell the tale. Meanwhile, my meemaw won’t even let me go into a pet store 'cause one time a parrot told her she looked tired, and I said, Meemaw, you do look tired."

Lindsey Graham's grand jury confession

The narrative took a more serious turn as Meyers delved into the wild reports of Graham flipping on Trump during the Georgia criminal investigation.

"Graham turned on a dime and, quote, threw Trump under the bus during his grand jury testimony in Fulton County, Georgia. Trump faces 13 charges in that state in connection with his efforts to steal the 2020 election."

Meyers continued to quote Graham's testimony, highlighting the senator's colorful expressions about Trump's potential belief in Martian election interference and even suggesting Trump cheats at golf.

The comedian used quotes to capture the post-testimony scene where Graham expressed relief and gratitude, thanking District Attorney Fani Willis and sharing a surprising hug.

'"That was so cathartic," he told Willis. "I feel so much better." Then, to the astonishment of one source who witnessed the scene, South Carolina’s senior senator hugged the Fulton County DA.'

Seth Meyers jokes about therapy

Injecting humor into the situation, Meyers quoted his musings about therapy, contrasting it with Graham's need to spill everything to a grand jury. The humorous take on Graham's revelations added a light touch to the unfolding political drama.

"Have these guys never heard of therapy? I go once a week and all I do is spend the entire hour overanalyzing a five-minute conversation I had with a camera guy in the hallway. I’m just kidding. I don’t go to therapy. But the writer who wrote this does. And let’s just say he needs it."
