Trump then brought up Barron’s relationship with Melania’s late mother Amalija Knavs. "Boy, did she take care of Barron. That’s how he got so tall, he only ate her food," Trump joked, attributing Barron’s 6-foot-7-inch height to his grandmom’s home cooking.
The comment drew laughter from the crowd as Trump went on to joke about his hopes that Barron would become a basketball player given his staggering height.
"I said you're gonna be a basketball player. He said, 'Well I like soccer Dad, actually.' I thought...at your height I like basketball better but you can't talk them into everything," Trump remarked, noting Barron prefers soccer and calling him a "special boy."
