Ex-Astronomer HR exec Kristin Cabot’s husband reveals they split weeks before Coldplay kiss cam scandal

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS: In a surprising twist to the viral “kiss cam” scandal, Andrew Cabot, husband of former Astronomer HR executive Kristin Cabot, revealed on Monday, September 8, that the couple had already separated weeks before Kristin was spotted kissing former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron at a Coldplay concert in July. Kristin filed for divorce from Andrew last month.

Andrew, who is CEO of Privateer Rum, issued a statement through his spokesperson confirming that the split was “private and amicable” and was already in motion before the concert incident sparked online speculation.

“Andrew and Kristin were privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert,” a spokesperson told People. “Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening. Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued.”

Court filings show Kristin lodged a divorce petition in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on August 13. Property records reviewed by The Post indicate Kristin shared a Rye, NH, residence with Andrew as recently as 2023. A Facebook post believed to be from May 2024 also showed Kristin wearing a large wedding ring while smiling alongside Andrew and their two young children.

Andrew’s second ex-wife, Julia Cabot, said she was aware of the separation before the concert incident. “I texted Andrew right after [the kiss cam scandal] happened, and he said, ‘Her life is nothing to do with me,’ and said they were separating,” Julia told Daily Mail.

Julia, who was married to Andrew for four years before their 2018 split, described her former husband bluntly. “He’s not a nice person,” she said, adding that when the scandal broke, she received multiple messages from acquaintances saying “karma.”

The Coldplay kiss cam clip quickly spread across social media, fueling widespread chatter about Kristin’s personal life and sparking headlines about her relationship with Andy Byron. With Andrew now confirming the couple’s separation, his statement aims to end speculation and re-center attention on the divorce process.
