LONDON, ENGLAND: Victoria Beckham's son Cruz Beckham gained some insight into his father David Beckham's soccer skills through Netflix docuseries chronicling the soccer legend's heydays.

In a recent interview with 'Allure', the 49-year-old fashion designer shares how her youngest son, Cruz, 18, was caught off guard by the Netflix documentary about David Beckham's soccer career.

Cruz 'had no idea Dad was so good at football'

Victoria Beckham discussed her 18-year-old's response to 'Beckham' with 'Allure' in an interview that was published on Thursday, December 14.

The former pop diva said, "Cruz, our youngest son, said, ‘Wow, I had no idea Dad was so good at football.’ It made me laugh, when I come up on the screen: ‘David Beckham’s wife.’ Brilliant."

The four-part documentary leads viewers on a historical tour to demonstrate how the 48-year-old former star of Manchester United Football Club rose to become acclaimed as one of the best players in sports history.

Victoria also acknowledged that she "cried when I saw the last scene of the documentary," which has Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 21, Cruz, and Harper, 12, joyfully chatting and dancing with David.

'He wasn't what I expected at all'

In an interview with PEOPLE in October, the documentary's director, Fisher Stevens, a self-described soccer aficionado, admitted that similar to Cruz, he initially didn't have any idea about how talented David Beckham was.

Stevens' admiration for the star only increased as he started gathering footage for the Netflix documentary.

"I started digging around and then I met with him and I said basically, ‘You were really good,’" Stevens told PEOPLE at the time.

The filmmaker continued, "He wasn't what I expected at all. He was so open. He's like, I'm ready. I want to tell my story before someone else does. And then I started doing research and I was like, ‘Jesus, this guy's life is nuts. Nuts.’ I had no idea."

"And then when I met with him and Victoria, I was like, oh my God, they're going to be fun. They're going to be good. They're going to be fun and they're going to be difficult and it's going to be great."

'We're both strict parents'

The Beckhams make it a point to be in close contact with their kids though they try not to limit them. There are expectations when one is a member of the Beckham family.

When asked what she and David want from their kids, Victoria replied, "Work hard. Be kind. Be nice. Making eye contact is important. Be polite, shake hands, those kinds of things."

"We're both strict parents without wanting to stifle them too much," the former Spice Girls alum added.

Victoria continued, "I still check on Harper when she's in bed. We all say 'I love you' before we fly. From the minute you find out you're pregnant, you worry," per Entertainment Tonight.
