LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Timothee Chalamet took home one of the top acting honors at the 2026 Golden Globes, but it was a personal moment during his acceptance speech that quickly became one of the most talked-about highlights of the night.

While accepting the award for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy, Chalamet paused to acknowledge those closest to him, including his longtime partner, Kylie Jenner. As cameras cut to the audience, Jenner’s reaction was captured in real time, sparking widespread curiosity online about what she appeared to say in response.

According to a lip reader cited in viral social media clips, Jenner mouthed the words, “I’m so happy,” moments after Chalamet told her he loved her during his speech.

Chalamet, 30, was announced as the winner during the ceremony held at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 11. Before heading to the stage, the Marty Supreme star leaned over to kiss Jenner, who was seated beside him.

Once on stage, Chalamet reflected on gratitude and perseverance, themes that have frequently come up in his awards season speeches.

“My dad instilled in me a spirit of gratitude growing up,” he said. “Always be grateful for what you have. It’s allowed me to leave this ceremony in the past empty-handed, my head held high, grateful just to be here.”

He then acknowledged the emotional weight of the moment, adding, “I’d be lying if I didn’t say those moments didn’t make this moment that much sweeter. For my parents, for my partner, I love you. Thank you so much.”

As the camera panned to Jenner, she was seen smiling broadly and appearing to respond quietly from her seat. The clip circulated rapidly across social media platforms, with viewers speculating about her exact words before a lip reader identified the brief reply.

Timothee Chalamet previously thanked Kylie Jenner at Critics Choice Awards

The Golden Globes moment followed another public declaration from Chalamet just days earlier at the 31st Critics Choice Awards. The actor won Best Actor for his role in the ping-pong drama Marty Supreme during the ceremony held in Santa Monica, California, on Sunday, January 4.

“Thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he said.

Jenner appeared visibly emotional during the speech and was seen whispering, “I love you, too,” according to audience footage shared online.

Chalamet later acknowledged feeling nervous during the ceremony and took time to praise his fellow nominees. He also thanked director Josh Safdie, crediting him for crafting a complex and relatable character in Marty Supreme.

Chalamet and Jenner have been together since April 2023 and have increasingly made public appearances together during awards season, though they have largely kept their relationship private.
