PARIS, FRANCE: 'Emily in Paris' star Lucas Bravo reportedly called the Netflix show a "bit archaic" and revealed that he is planning to quit the Netflix series after the fifth season.

Bravo had earlier expressed his dissatisfaction with his character’s storylines and has now doubled down on that stance while criticizing the show, reported The Independent

During an interview with French publication Le Figaro’s TV magazine, the 36-year-old actor was critical of the nature of Gabriel’s relationship with Emily. He said, "Everything is based on a lack of communication."

He added that Gabried would be better if he discovered "a bit of panache" after the fourth season.

Talking about the communication between Gabriel and Emily, Bravo said, "It’s a bit archaic. These days, the new generation verbalises, they confront, and that no longer works in this case, we do not understand each other."

He added, "People see this mechanism coming from miles away, and I don’t want to be part of a cog that tends not to consider the intelligence of the audience."

Bravo added that he had suggested his character should open a vegan establishment but his idea was apparently turned down by showrunners, according to the report.

Lucas Bravo admits he had grown disillusioned by his character

The actor expressed he was still contemplating his involvement in the fifth season, a part of which is set to be filmed in Rome. He said, "Life is short. It takes five months to shoot this series. Do I want to sacrifice them by telling [a story] that does not stimulate me?"

Bravo admitted in September that he had grown disillusioned by his character and the direction the show was taking. He said, "I don’t really like what it’s becoming and where this storyline is going. You know, at the end of the day, I’m just an actor, and I’m here to say my lines, but, yeah, it’s kind of weird."

He said about Gabriel, "I don’t understand him anymore. But we’ll see... Darren has plans. I'm just following it."

Bravo added, "The series was a good entertainment, an escape. But I feel the need to raise awareness a bit of what I’m saying. I don’t really have any freedom and as people are starting to give it to me elsewhere, I am getting a taste for it."

The actor is set to star in 'Libre', a French biopic about the notorious robber Bruno Sulak who is known for a number of spectacular prison escapes. The show will be released in November on Amazon Prime.

He will also be a part of a forthcoming British thriller 'Turn Up the Sun!' starring James McAvoy and Aisling Franciosi, per the outlet.
