'He’s very into her': Shakira 'casually' dating 'Emily in Paris' star Lucien Laviscount, sources claim

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pop sensation Shakira has reportedly begun a new romantic journey with 'Emily in Paris' star Lucien Laviscount, following her latest split with football player Gerard Pique.

Though the new relationship might appear perfect, an insider claims that "she's casually seeing him" and that "the chemistry started" while they were together on Shakira's 'Punteria' music video set, per Us Weekly.

Shakira's new romance after a 'tough year'

The 'Waka Waka' hitmaker is reportedly feeling "better than ever" after going through a "tough year" and splitting from her 11-year partner, Gerard Pique.

As per Us Weekly, the pop artist and the British actor developed a strong chemistry during their collaboration on the music video for Shakira's single.

The insider said that Shakira, 47, and Laviscount, 31, are not getting serious just yet, but the Latin musician was "pleasantly surprised by how charming and funny he was."

Shakira is reportedly "happy" with the direction her relationship with the 'Emily in Paris' actor is taking, said a second source. Meanwhile, a third insider claimed, "Shakira and Lucien have a light playful thing going on — and he’s very into her."

According to the insider, Shakira's romance with Laviscount began after she had a "rough year" following her split with Pique, but "she’s moved on and is feeling better than ever."

Regarding her and Pique's two sons, Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9, Shakira told Elle in September 2022, "It’s been tough not only for me, but also for my kids."

"Incredibly difficult. … I’ve tried to conceal the situation in front of my kids. I try to do it and to protect them, because that’s my number one mission in life," she said.

She called the last few months the "darkest hour of my life" amid a tax fraud probe and her father's failing health.

Shakira fell for Lucien Laviscount while filming steamy music video

The Latin beauty reportedly began dating Lucien Laviscount after falling for the British actor during their collaboration on Shakira's latest steamy 2024 music video.

A topless Laviscount portrays a centaur with horse hoofs and toned abs in the 'Punteria' music video. Shakira gives him sensual medical attention after shooting him with an arrow.

After recovering, Laviscount gets cozy with Shakira, caressing her shoulder and coming dangerously close to kissing her lips.

Shakira was seen out and about in New York City with the actor on March 26, a few days after the video's premiere.

Insiders earlier revealed that they are together but are not "heavily involved," to the satisfaction of Shakira's pals, who reportedly worry that Laviscount would break her heart.

"Shakira is desperate to fall in love – but her friends are concerned because Lucien has slowly crept his way up the celebrity ladder while dating women who were all less famous than Shakira," an insider told Daily Mail at the time.

The insider further claimed that Shakira is "not over her ex" Pique, adding that everyone around the singer "knows that Lucien is a rebound. She is dating someone who they fear is a player and she is going to get burned."

The singer has been connected to a number of men since her split from the football player, including Tom Cruise, Jimmy Butler, and Lewis Hamilton.

Following a brief romance with NBA player Jimmy Butler in the summer of 2023, an insider revealed to Us Weekly in September 2023, "Shakira has a lot on her plate. … But she’s definitely optimistic about finding love again."
