She had reportedly said, “I feel like it's the phase of my career where I'm really trying to just impress my kids.”

“My 5-year-old and my 10-year-old [now 11] were so enthralled by this process, getting to visit the set and see me dressed up in a cape. It made it really cool. You know, it's very rare that my kids are like, 'Please go to work!' Usually, it's quite the opposite,” the film producer added.

Natalie Portman reveals her reason behind keeping personal life private

Besides, during a 2025 interview with Jenna Ortega for Interview, Portman said, “I’m not a particularly private person in real life—I’ll tell you anything—but in public, it was so clear early on that if you tell people how private you are, your privacy gets respected a lot more. I set up a little bit of a barrier to be like, ‘I’m not going to do photo shoots with my kids.’”

“There’s so much more media now, so to break through it all, you need to be noisy. It needs to either be controversial or weird or unusual or funny, but that’s made it all much more interesting,” she added.
