MAGA Republicans question Minnesota primary results as Ilhan Omar wins by greater margin than in 2022
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA: Rep Ilhan Omar (D-MN) won the Democratic primary in Minnesota's 5th Congressional District on Tuesday, August 13, by defeating former City Council member Don Samuels with a bigger margin than in 2022, as per Newsweek.
The "Squad" member secured 56.23 percent of the overall vote in 217 precincts while Samuels got 42.91 percent, shared the Minnesota Secretary of State's office. In the previous primary, the vote percentages of the two candidates stood at 50.35 and 48.2, respectively.
Omar's comfortable victory and popularity have left MAGA Republicans questioning the fairness of the election, with many taking to social media to speculate on the chances of election fraud.
Her win comes after fellow "Squad" members, Missouri Rep Cori Bush and New York Rep Jamaal Bowman, lost their primary races.
MAGA Republicans question Ilhan Omar's primary win
As the first woman of color to represent Minnesota in the House of Representatives, Ilhan Omar has faced repeated attacks from former President Donald Trump throughout her political career. Moreover, her identity as a Black and Muslim woman has frequently subjected her to hostile and racist attacks from MAGA supporters on social media.
Her recent victory in the primaries brought a similar slew of virtual assaults, as the account End Wokeness posted on X (formerly Twitter), "Why did it take 70+ minutes to count 5k votes in Ilhan Omar's district? Countries count millions in 70 minutes."

Countries count millions in 70 minutes.
They also posted a breakdown of the counting of ballots to rouse suspicion, writing in a tweet, "Minnesota, District 5: 8:00pm - Polls close. 8:15pm - 0% counted. 8:30pm - 0% counted. 8:45pm - 0% counted. 9:00pm - 0% counted. 9:22pm - 5.0% counted. 9:37pm - 99.5% counted. Totally 100% legitimate. Nothing at all suspicious. Congrats to Ilhan Omar."

I can’t believe people are stupid enough to vote for this woman.
Omar will face Republican Dalia Al-Aqidi in November. She is expected to win in the deep blue district.
MAGA supporters accuse Ilhan Omar of cheating in primary election
MAGA supporters agreed with the End Wokeness account's taken on Ilhan Omar's primary victory, with many claiming that the election was "rigged" or a "sham."
One simply wrote, "Rigged," and another said, "They’re cheating."
"Voting in America is a total sham," declared a person. "It’s another scam," echoed someone else, attaching a meme.
"Democrats are cheating against Democrats do you really think they wouldn't do it to Trump," jibed another person. One more observed, "Kinda feels like we’re watching something sketchy going on."
An individual remarked, "She stole it. Not only that - but they are also showing that they can still steal elections."
