WASHINGTON, DC: A recent report by CNN stated that Rep Matt Rosendale was fundraising at Mar-a-Lago earlier this month, where he also ran into former president Donald Trump and praised him on social media.

Three days after their run-in, Rosendale endorsed Trump.

However, the report also stated that Rosendale is now taking steps to mount a Senate primary run and promote himself as a “MAGA warrior.”

Amid this, Republicans are hoping to shut down any hope that “the conservative hardliner could use Trump as a springboard to the nomination.”

Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene shared this piece by CNN and claimed that Rosendale “cannot be trusted.”

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Marjorie Taylor Greene shared the piece by CNN and wrote, “It’s nauseating watching politicians like Rosendale only run to Pres Trump for pictures and beg for endorsement when they want to get elected, but when Pres Trump ask for support they literally throw up their hands and turn their back.”

“Can not be trusted,” added Greene.

Two people “close to Trump” also told CNN that they looked at Rep Matt Rosendale’s decision to publicize his December encounter with Trump as an attempt to use Trump’s name and image to bolster his own political career, which is something they found “particularly loathsome.”

CNN also attached a picture of Congresswoman Greene offering a phone to Rosendale while the race to Speakership at the Capitol continued.

The report claimed that Rosendale “refused” to talk to Trump on that phone call, offered by Greene.

Greene also shared this picture on her social media accounts.

One user wrote, “It’s nauseating having you in Congress. 🤦‍♀️,” while another wrote, “You’re nauseating Marj!”

“It's nauseating to watch @RepMTG in Congress. You're not even qualified to ask if someone wants a hot apple pie with their order,” wrote one user.

Another said, “You are pissed that Republicans are not more loyal to Donald Trump.. what a joke the only person Donald Trump's loyal to is himself.”

Greene continued to face backlash on X as one user wrote, “It’s nauseating having you as a sitting member of Congress. You’re toxic."

Another wrote, “What's nauseating is how you suck up to FORMER president Trump because you want him to pick you as his running mate, which will NEVER happen.”
