MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: On the first night of the Republican National Convention, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) delivered an incendiary speech bashing transgenderism and "illegal aliens."

Beginning on a somber note, Greene referenced the assassination attempt on Donald Trump before transitioning into her characteristic red-meat rhetoric. Greene criticized the political establishment in Washington for betraying the American people.

Marjorie Taylor Greene goes on the offensive

“For far too long, the establishment in Washington has sold us out,” she began, accusing them of breaking their promises.

She continued, “They promised unity and division. They promised peace and brought war. They promised normalcy and gave us Transgender Visibility Day on Easter Sunday.”

Greene then clearly stated her stance on gender issues: “And let me state this clearly, there are only two genders. And we are made in God’s image. Amen.”

Shifting her focus to immigration, Greene accused Democrats of causing economic harm by allowing illegal immigration.

She claimed that Democrats “ripped open our borders and allowed millions of illegal aliens to pour in, driving up the cost of housing and health care while slashing American wages and eliminating jobs…. The Democrats’ economy is of, by, and for illegal aliens.”

She further criticized Democratic spending priorities, highlighting the discrepancy between funding for Ukraine’s borders and the US border wall. “They spent over $175 million, of your tax dollars, to secure Ukraine’s borders, but they tell us the border wall is too expensive?” Greene asked, as reported by Deadline.

Marjorie Taylor Greene slammed on social media for her comments

Critics of Marjorie Taylor Greene slammed her on social media for her comments against transgenders.

"Listening to Marjorie Taylor Greene speak about trans people and 'only two genders' is a reminder that the lack of understanding about the differences between sex and gender runs deep," one posted on X.

"She is straight out of the boys show like I cannot take her seriously as an actual person," another wrote.

"Marjorie needs to stop crying. Having multiple celebrations in one day is nothing new. Who cares if Easter and trans day of visibility is on the same day? People can celebrate one or the other. Or both," read a comment.

"I genuinely dont understand how they dont realize how ridiculous they sound?" someone else asked.

"75% of what they say is trolling liberals. I’m not saying they aren’t awful. But I’ve stopped watching or listening to them. I focus on what needs to be done to stop them," another chimed in.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's attacks on Admiral Rachel Levine

Greene's controversial comments extend beyond her speech at the convention. In February, she sparked outrage with her remarks about Admiral Rachel Levine, the first openly transgender federal official confirmed by the US Senate.

Levine, serving as the United States Assistant Secretary for Health for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), supports gender-affirming care for those undergoing puberty and has the "highest support" from President Joe Biden's administration.

During Black History Month, the HHS produced a video featuring Levine to raise awareness about the disproportionate impact of climate change on the Black community.

Greene reacted to this video by posting on X, “Here is a man pretending to be a woman claiming the climate is hurting black Americans more than others. This is the Democrat Party. Mental illness on full display.”

That's not all. In November, Greene took to the House floor to introduce an amendment targeting Levine's salary, equating it to Levine's stance on gender-affirming surgeries.

“My amendment uses the Holman rule (an amendment to appropriations legislation that can reduce the salary of or fire specific federal employees) to reduce, no castrate, the salary of assistant secretary for health Richard Levine to $1, the same way he supports castrating children who suffer from gender dysphoria,” Greene declared.

Despite her efforts, the amendment was rejected by 46 Republicans and 208 Democrats, while 170 Republican House members voted in favor, Newsweek reported.
