Mark Hamill promotes wild claim that Trump stole Joe Biden’s Gaza peace plan

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actor Mark Hamill blasted out a wild conspiracy theory on social media Tuesday, claiming that President Donald Trump stole former President Joe Biden’s Gaza peace plan.
Hamill hopped on the left-wing platform BlueSky to share a wild claim from Occupy Democrats and captioned the post, “THIS.”
The post alleged that Biden was actually the mastermind behind the peace deal that Trump recently brokered between Israel and Hamas. According to the claim, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu secretly met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, where the two supposedly schemed to derail Biden’s peace plan so they could "keep the war going."
“Months later they’re signing the exact deal Biden brokered. Don’t be fooled,” the meme warned.

The Biden camp’s version of events
Hamill’s post didn’t come out of nowhere. It followed a flurry of similar claims from Biden’s Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who posted a long thread on X suggesting that he and Biden had been the ones to design the very deal Trump eventually inked.
But the claim might not hold water. The Biden administration spent much of its tenure at odds with Israel and never came close to securing a peace deal. In fact, relations with Israeli leadership were rather frosty during Biden’s presidency.

To make matters worse, Hamas launched the October 7, 2023, terrorist attacks during Biden’s tenure. Over a thousand innocent Israeli civilians were killed, including men, women, and children.
Biden commends Trump
President Donald Trump, however, managed to pull off what the Biden team couldn't. His team brought together key Middle Eastern players to the table for a ceasefire and the release of Israeli hostages who had been held captive by Hamas for two years. The subsequent deal led to the safe return of the remaining 20 hostages.
Even Biden seemed to begrudgingly give Trump a nod for the achievement.
“The road to this deal was not easy,” Biden posted on X Monday, shortly after Trump officially signed the Gaza peace plan. “My Administration worked relentlessly to bring hostages home, get relief to Palestinian civilians, and end the war. I commend President Trump and his team for their work to get a renewed ceasefire deal over the finish line.”
I am deeply grateful and relieved that this day has come – for the last living 20 hostages who have been through unimaginable hell and are finally reunited with their families and loved ones, and for the civilians in Gaza who have experienced immeasurable loss and will finally…

Biden also said he was “deeply grateful and relieved” that the last 20 hostages who had been through “unimaginable hell” were finally reunited with their families. He added that Palestinians would “finally get the chance to rebuild their lives.”
“Now, with the backing of the United States and the world, the Middle East is on a path to peace that I hope endures and a future for Israelis and Palestinians alike with equal measures of peace, dignity, and safety,” Biden added.
Fellow Democrats not as generous as Joe Biden
While Biden at least mentioned Trump by name, his former second-in-command wasn’t as generous.
Vice President Kamala Harris posted her own statement praising “leaders and partners whose efforts made this agreement possible."

Meanwhile, Antony Blinken doubled down on the administration’s claim that Trump’s breakthrough was just an extension of their own “blueprint.”
“It’s good that President Trump adopted and built on the plan the Biden Administration developed after months of discussion with Arab partners, Israel and the Palestinian Authority,” Blinken wrote on X.
(6/12) It starts with a clear and comprehensive post conflict plan for Gaza. It’s good that President Trump adopted and built on the plan the Biden Administration developed after months of discussion with Arab partners, Israel and the Palestinian Authority. It centers on…
