WASHINGTON, DC: Senator Mark Kelly didn’t hold back in his criticism of the current government under Donald Trump. He slammed the current government, saying, “You could pick a random group of people off the street tonight here in Washington, DC."

He added, "Just a random group. They could probably do a better job than our government is doing right now.” Commenting on the tense situation with Iran following the US missile strike, Kelly criticized the administration for lacking a clear purpose or strategic plan, saying they have no vision.

He also noted that both Democrats and Republicans are divided over the Iran strike, and his remarks suggest where he stands on the issue. Speaking about the Iran strike, 6 American service members have been killed so far during the conflict.

Mark Kelly slams Trump administration for lack of strategy amid rising tensions with Iran

During an interview with MSNOW’s 'The Briefing with Jen Psaki', Kelly didn’t hold back in criticizing Trump and his administration. He said, "You could pick a random group of people off the street tonight here in Washington, DC. Just a random group, and they could probably do a better job than our government is doing right now."

Kelly further highlighted the administration’s lack of direction, stating, "With this, they don't have a goal. There's no strategic plan. There's no timeline. And what this is likely to lead to is, again, a long war with a lot of dead Americans and no rationale for how this is helping the American people."

Mark Kelly calls for limits on military authority amid Iran strike

Kelly has been vocal in his criticism of the White House following the joint strikes by Israel and the US on Iran last Saturday, February 28, which resulted in the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

This isn’t the first time Kelly has condemned the administration’s actions in the region. Just hours earlier, he shared a video highlighting his stance. In a post on X, "I just voted yes on the war powers resolution to rein in this President. Trump promised no new wars in the Middle East, and now we're in one with no plan and no end in sight."

Kelly revealed that he had voted in favor of a war powers resolution designed to limit Trump’s authority to expand US military involvement in the Middle East. Kelly also criticized the remarks made by the Defense Secretary.

Sharing another post on X, he wrote, “There is nothing more sacred than the lives of our servicemembers and they deserve a president and a secretary of Defense who respect their service and sacrifice.”
